  Hiding crime and criminals from the public and the governemental authorites has been a WRITTEN policy of Watchtower since 1967; reaffirmed in 1973 and in 1989 and again in 1993, with a 1985 Watchtower article thrown in for good measure.

  The literature says what it says. The governments have everything they need to start putting higher-up JW's in JAIL for many mnay years. Both JW and Non-JW persons directly harmed by this WRITTEN 30-year-old policy have everything they need to begin financial dismanting of the Watchtower for many many years.

  Two things missing from THAT letter:

  Yes, they have an absolute right to report crime, but it does not say THEY WILL NOT BE SANCTIONED. Now why would they leave that out?

  What about all those elders who broke the law; have they been disciplined? What about the thousands of JW's hurt by this policy, are they being helped?

  IT IS NO ACCIDENT THESE HAVE BEEN LEFT OUT OF THAT LETTER.

  Since when is it the hosptials's 'job' to do anything about blood? It's scientists in the lab and in the field that has the 'job' of doing something about blood.

  Any JW who wrote this should be informed of Watchtower's role in Hemopure and Biopure. If 'nothing' was being done about alternatives to blood, how is it Watchtower can be involved in projects such as this IF THEY DID NOT EXIST?

  'Chose' Jehovah's Witnesses for WHAT?

  Too bad Watchtower didn't allow higher education for their adherents 20 and 40 years ago, perhaps educated JW's MIGHT have come up with blood alternatives THEMSELVES by now. <sigh>

  after being indoctrinated against talking to apostates for years, it is scarey to suddenly start talking on the internet.

  but it does help to talk with others who have had the same experiences of the wt society - otherwise you end up thinking you are the only one finding a problem with it.. don't be intimidated by your local elders - they are just as indoctrinated as the rest, and probably have secret fears themselves about the organisation.. i was brought up as a jw for 20 years, was baptised.

  i left 18 months ago - i now feel happier than i have ever done - i can think for myself, make decisions for myself.

  ALL fifty states allow ANYONE to report a child abuser.

  Now ask yourself why Watchtower doesn't just DO that? Why are the children in SOME states (the reporting states) get more professional help and more justice and more closure and more protection than those poor JW children that THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN just happen to live in a non-reporting state.

  Why is Watchtower USING THE BIBLE to maintain a pedophile paradise in non-reporting states.

  These are questions JW's need to ask themselves. And perhaps they can also ask themselves if they need to take a 'little break' from the organization while it sorts out its legal problems THAT IT BROUGHT UPON ITSELF.
