  i was born into the jw's religion.

  was an active jw for over 30 years.

  i remember when i was a child my mom would take me in the bathroom and switch me so hard with the nice little switch she got from the tree outside.

  I never had to beat my kids either. They grew up to be responsible people thus far.

  I remember as a kid the beatings with the full consent of the elders I took the brunt of it for my siblings. What a good little boy I was, sitting at meetings almost at attention not speaking unless you were first spoken to.

  I find myself sometimes wishing there was a god and heaven and the figurative Dante's hell for real, I would send some of those people to their own isolated corner of hell and force them to smoke all the turds they can.

  ewhyzee: This is unprecedented.....they've always been able to go about their way unchecked and we the trusting "Publishers" could only hear their version of anything that happened to them legally. Gone are the days when victims of this organization will simply disappear without having their say, publicly .
  

  So true as far as the wtbts is concerned it's not supposed to happen this way. Apostates, disgruntled and mentally diseased independent thinkers are supposed to be isolated and that way only one story goes to court to tell the tales of what happened.

  I guess God's channel to humans didn't see the internet coming. I am convinced these lawyers must have visited sites like this one to get their understanding of the Witnesses. They seem well informed.

  I have a dislike for trophy hunters who go all over the place getting their rocks off by killing animals with high powered rifles at a distance and then bringing the heads back and hanging them on their walls as though there is supposed to be some glory in it. That's just me though. I'll bet every thing that that lion killed he ate. I guess that is what is called the circle of life.

  How many of the 1.006 alleged abusers will be investigated by Police?

  the commission has the names of 1,006 alleged abusers within australian congregations since 1950. some will have died and others will already have been prosecuted but the branch did not report any of these allegations to police.. the terms of reference for the royal commission is more about redress for the victims but that can include criminal prosecution although they are more focused on financial compensation.. however, now that they have the names of 1,006 potential criminals there is some responsibility to see that they are dealt with criminally.

  it appears to be in their authority to have cases followed through by referring them for further investigation.

  this is clear because the commissioner has recently reported that to date, they have done so in 493 cases identified within the scope of their commission.

  To me it seems counter-intuitive that all of the cases will not be investigated. Where a Pedo strikes once and gets away with it there's a good chance he'l do it again. Remember if they are not investigated at least, the Royal Commission would be just as guilty as the ones whom they are investigating now. Who knows where these investigations that are sure to happen will lead and what the fall out will be.
