when i think of integrity, a lot of positive connotations come to mind.

i think of individuals grounded in principles, who do not operate on opinions that change based on the breeze of political or social change.

a life that is directed by a code of morality, not on capricious emotions.

What's with all the pyramids??

the number of pyramids in the world just keep going up and up.

an egyptoligist thinks using satellite scanning technology he has found the remnants of another 17 pyramids in the egypt.

in central and south american they keep finding more pyramids and in java a couple of years ago they surmised that the riuns their was actually a step pyramid possible the oldest in the world.

WireRider I guess some things are just mysteries. I am much more perplexed lately about finding out who that one person is in the Ukrane that thinks I am cute. There is also one person within 7 miles of me that thinks I am cute according to the adds I keep seeing on this site. I guess they'l remain a mystery too. Sigh.....

I am sure there is somebody out there that knows.

i'm sankara (obviously not my real name), a third generation born-in, currently an m.s, and yeah, writing from nigeria.

discovered ttatt a couple of years back while i was in college.

Welcome Sankara23 I am a mentally diseased Agnostic North American Ex Witness from Canada. In your post you say that family plays a big role in every day life were you are from. That's a good thing and it's as it should be and therein lies the WTBTS's Achilles heel in Africa. At least I hope.

All the people in Africa have to do is research the vast history of close familial bonds that have prospered in the rest of the world under the watchful guidance of the WTBTS and they will see for themselves what a loving christian organization it really is. (sarcasm intended) Education on such matters used to be expensive in more ways than one but now days with the proliferation of the world wide web it's getting cheaper all the time.

So take heart and don't worry about looking weird as an agnostic but at the same time be cautious and welcome your among friends here.

Actually I like some of the older quotes like Clinton's "I didn't inhale" or " I didn't have sexual relations with that women" or the best one "That depends what the definition of the word is,is"

this issue contains the study articles for february 29 to april 3, 2016.. what about the number of those partaking at the memorial?12, 13. why should we not worry about the number of those who eat the bread and drink the wine at the memorial?12 in recent years, we have seen an increase in the number of those partaking at the memorial of christs death.

that trend contrasts with the decrease in the number of partakers that we saw for many decades.

DarioKehlGuys.:Let's make 2016 count. Why not drive a few towns over and attend memorial where no one will recognize you next spring (2016)? The only difference is, we ALL partake.

Sounds like a hell of an idea! Just to add a little confusion to matters tell them you have a medical condition and you need to know the calorie content and ingredients of the wine and unleavened bread so they don't interfere with your medication. All the hypochondriacs will look on as a young ministerial servants scurry around with I phones trying to look it up. LOL

What’s the deal with all the Smart-Educated JWs?

we talk a lot about most jws being uneducated, uninformed, and that they lack critical thinking skills, but in my area there is a lot of jws that went to the university, medical school, law school, and came back to the organization.

in my circuit, that i know of, we had two electrical engineers, one computer engineer with a ph.d. eight teachers with a bachelors degree and three of those with a masters in education.

we had two medical doctors, one was a pediatrician who closed his business about 3 years ago and went to bethel.

I have had dealings with born in and converts who were well educated and like a lot of people they fall victim to getting their ears tickled by faint praise from the rank and file, it's a bit of an ego thing that all humans are susceptible to I suspect. But as long as their perceptions are just theorized about in the abstract they are fine when it comes to Borg life. It's when things come out of the theoretical and enter vivid reality things shake them back to more rational thought like a life or death decision over the blood issue for example.

Just my opinion and it doesn't reflect any medical or psychological merit it's just what I have observed. That's why sometimes it's best to get an opinion from someone like Viviane, you don't have to worry about fuelling any narcissistic tendencies you might have with her observations. LOL.

Does Anyone Still Believe in God?

do any of you ex-jw's still believe in god?

even with the new rebranding/softening of this religion, i still don't see how people can believe in him.

the god of the old testimate is an angry murderer who approved rapes and slavery and killed thousands of men, women and children.

I am just a deist,

I hold my standard of proof in a diety as a self proclaimed agnostic. Imagine how I would be as a strict atheist !

Like I said before my standard for divine proof is not that high and for some like deist's their standard is just being alive like bacteria that inhabit the sewer. Yep when you think about sewer sucking as life's passion you have time to reflect. Just like your initial observation. Huh?
