Well, it does makes sense. I've always questions the beliefs, and on a few occasions I expressed my questions. You are taught not to question the organization. They instill a fear in you to question the beliefs, to ask questions or express your concerns. I remember when I was 15 years old, I met a man in early morning service who started talking about some of the organizations history. Of course, we quickly departed but that left me, a curious teenager, left to wonder what he was talking about. So I started asking questions and was told by the pioneer "don't ever listen to the apostates... don't questions the organization because that means I am questions Jehovah". So, I imagine a lot of people do agree and might even express their questions but then, because of the fear we learn at such a young age, we take it back.

Strange Experiences
by Jerohobobonadad inhello all i hope you are well.. i've had very strange experiences recently.. i've had discussions with a few friends, who i would never have thought would say anything against da troof, who agree with all i've said about the inaccuracies of the org and said things i hadn't realised.. i've had discussions with one of my siblings and they said they didn't believe any of the wtbts teachings, then later that week had discussions with my parents with sibling present, where sibling has sided with parents and disagreed with everything i've said, even though they agreed a few days before.. i've had discussions with a friend, who hasn't been to meetings for ages, say how disappointed they were with some of our friends who have stopped going to meetings.
the friend could only talk about when the big a would come - why don't they go back to the org then?.
i have learnt recently to never be amazed by the ability for rational humans to state beliefs in private, yet publicly say the absolute opposite.. i feel as though i'm on the outside looking in when i talk to these people.

Question: Demons
by ladybug25 ingrowing up, i remember hearing stories from my own parents and others in the congregation about experiences with demons.
sister x wore a t-shirt that she purchased at a second hand store and the demons attached themselves to the shirt and gave her problems.
certain movies and/or cds would give a family problems.

Dido, so why do you think the demons picked on you? What makes you feel okay about your decision to leave the organization?

I can believe the stories are from over-active imaginations. Even in the case of my own mother, she has the dedency to tell big stories. What is confusing to me, and somewhat convincing, is the stories from my husband's family. They aree experiences "problems" are the same time. Is it possible that FOUR different people heard the same noises? Experienced the same touching? They are a little crazy, lol, but I cannot fathom an entire family imagining the same things and/or lying about the same experiences.

Growing up, I remember hearing stories from my own parents and others in the congregation about experiences with demons. Sister X wore a t-shirt that she purchased at a second hand store and the demons attached themselves to the shirt and gave her problems. Certain movies and/or cds would give a family problems. Smurfs ring a bell? When my parents were studying, my mom was thrown into a rose bush on her way up the steps to book study. Since entering my husband's life, I've heard quite a few detailed stories from him and his family about demon experiences they had many years ago. The demons tormented their household but put focus on my husband and his dad. My husband, at the time, was recovering from drugs. HIs father dabbled in "apostasy". Which were the reasons for the demons. His mom and sisters heard the demons and heard the shaking of their house. My husband and his father were "molested" by the demons. So is the story.
SO MY QUESTION IS THIS: what is everyone thoughts on the demons and such stories? Because when I think about how "the truth" is not the truth, I come back and think about these demon stories. Are they real? In people's heads? What is the deal with these experiences??? I personally have NEVER had experiences but now, of course, I have fear that I will because I am leaving "Jehovah's protection" if you know what I mean. Crazy how messed up the mind can get....please help!!!

My Story
by ladybug25 inmy parents were baptized when i was three years old.
so, you could say that i was "born and raised" as a jw.
i was baptized at age 11. i was a regular auxilary pioneer from age 14 to 15. my parents became inactive at about age 14. it was very hard trying to be a "good young sister" especially after being told you're a burden to the pioneers that have to always provide rides in service and to/from the meetings.

She's been "out" for over 6 years now. So she is actually doing really well and has offered to "help me through it". I will have to tell her about this site though.

I have a good group of girlfriends and recently a new girl joined our group. It turns out she is df'd and her story, is much worse. I am thankful that my story is what it is and does not involved abuse or molestation.

Oh! And I would like to announce that, after being told all my life that I don't need "schooling", being "homeschooled" and not finishing school... I am back in school full time going to a masters in Psychology. :)

I do have hope. On the other hand, his family does not help. They put so much guilt and pressure on him, on a regular basis, it's sickening. Everytime his mother opens her mouth it's "you need to do ... you have to ... when are you going to ... Jehovah this and that ... the last days are near ... everything is so bad, we don't have much time left ... etc."

The bastards have marked me!
by Zico inso, i'd been invited to a jw 'friends' house this evening, but before i went, i went out with some work mates, something i've been doing a bit more of recently.
i told him i'd be home about 7.30 and for him to phone me after that time when he wants me to come round, so i get back about that time, popped onto jwd, whilst awaiting my phone call, got nothing, so i phoned him up a few minutes ago, and he told me that he'd discussed it with the others, and since i've been going out with worldly people so much, they want me to stop that association before they let me start associating with them again!
i'm really fucking angry here now!

We can relate. My husband LIFELONG friends stopped associating with him, simply because we became irregular and eventually inactive. We were not even hanging out with "worldly" people at that time. We simply just had a hard time making meetings.

No dating outside of religion?
by TillMorning inhey this is my first post and since the search option is down i figured i'd risk getting flamed.. anyway, i have a problem.
this belief of not dating anyone who isnt a witness...is there anyway around it?
anyway short of converting them?

This is going to sound horrible but... convert, date her, marry her, leave and since divorce is forbidden, she is stuck with you. :)
Besides that, you're screwed. Unless she is willing to go behind her parent's back.
