this song came on the radio earlier today and brought back so many memories.. as a teenager me and some brothers and sisters from the hall used to go over on the river rafting and intertubing.
while we where there this song would usually come up and we would all get together and start singing.
(even those like me who couldn't sing).. .
Love this song! Thanks.
Hope you have a great summer.

my mother had left the truth for 4 years in the early 90's.
when she came back she was already remarried.
he started to study and got baptized.
I had an UBM and was definitely treated differently. Not important to anyone and considered spiritually weak because I was unable to do all that was expected or as much of it. My kids quit going to meetings quite young with Daddy's encouragement, but I can sure understand why because they were treated badly. Why did it take me so long to open my eyes?
How are you going to stop a dog from peeing on the mailbox post? Don't think so, especially if it is a dog just running around the neighborhood, which is not supposed to happen around here because of the leash laws, but does happen all the time.
If I was walking my dog, I would not let her pee on a mailbox post, but our street is really the only one in this area that has mailboxes out by the street, and there are only 4 houses on this street. The rest of the streets around have have the mailboxes on the side of the house.
Actually I never thought about this before, so if we had been walking along and she started to pee on a mailbox post I might not have worried about it because I figured it was somewhere a lot of other dogs had peed, so what's the difference. It's not like they could pee on the mailbox itself.
witness rules and teachings that go "beyond what is written" in the bible............(feel free to add more here or on other thread).

How about .............
You cannot have a tubal ligation or a vasectomy.
You cannot raise tobacco.
You cannot do some type of work in a hospital, etc. in lieu of military service. In fact, where does the Bible say you cannot serve in the military?
At one time, they said you could not work for a company that produced ammunition that was sold for war effort.
No R rated movies -- and PG are questionable (CO Michael Emilio said PG stood for "pure garbage")
You cannot buy Girl Scout cookes or contribute to any charity that is run by a religious organization.
You cannot allow your children to be in Girl Scouts, Brownies, Boy Scouts, or Cub Scouts.

Ya know what - don't even worry about the reason for her inexcusable behavior. It's not even worth thinking about. Just move on and do not contact her again, and ignore or rebuff any attempts on her part to contact you.
As far as "Ladies, explain your behavior", a lady would not behave in this way. I certainly would not, nor would most women including those on JWD. You just dodged a bullet.
i know we've had this thread before - but thought i'd be the first on the new board !
some of my top picks as follows.

as a loyal witness i would never have done anything on a tuesday night except attend the group study.. when i was at school it was a definate no to after school activities on a tuesday (though it was much the same for other nights of the week as well).
then i would never go to any night classes on a tuesday, which somewhat limits access to higher education.
never stayed in to watch tv no matter what was on..
Actually Tuesday night was the Ministry School and Service Meeting because we had two congregations meeting at the same KH.

I once wanted to take my puppy to obedience classes, but the only one available was on Tuesday night so I did not. Wish I could do it over and take my dog.
i was a dyed in the wool jw.
he was a 'call' turned over to me by my best friend when he headed off to bethel in '73.. the first time i called there, i nearly gagged with the filthy living conditions.
i hate the religion of jehovah's witnesses.
Definitely there are some people who are helped by it. I totally agree with that. I feel that my mother is one who was helped. She had a violent schizophrenic father and an alcoholic adulterous mother. Her brothers and sisters were all alcoholic but one, who died at an early age of cervical cancer. My mother needed something to help her escape from what would very likely have been a very bad, probably alcoholic life. To convince her that the religion is wrong, especially at the age of 77, would take away something that has been of benefit and joy to her and would probably make her feel totally hopeless.
The Watchtower does great damage to families and i think there are those who need to be helped out of it, but not everyone.
