We have not gotten any J-dub calls in years. Pretty much everyone in the local congregation knows I live here and generally never did come to my door unless they needed to use the bathroom or wanted to say hi, but there are three other houses on this street and they never go to them either. I have seen them on the next street before, but not for several years. Maybe more people are turning in time and not going out.

Got a visit from door-to-door JW's!
by donuthole intoday while i was home for a quick lunch break i got a knock at the door.
i opened the door and was surprised to see two elderly jehovah's witnesses women.
i haven't been called on since i've been out for four years, so this was a bit of surprise.

donuthole,
I hope my family says "hi" back to you when you greet them. I am doing well. Hope you and your family are also.
Snakes,
It's great to not care any more and be able to put my name out there on this board. Good for you for reaching that point also.

donuthole,
I know that sister, too. Very sweet lady and were it not for the fact you are df'd, she would have hugged you and been excited to see you and find out what is going on with you. How sad that she is so misguided as to follow the dictates of the Watchtower Society. Good for you in acting how the Spirit has taught you. JW's are taught to act totally in opposition to the Spirit and don't even realize it.

I'm with you, Moshe. Religion is all man-made, just like the Bible.

"The fact is throughout human history religious beliefs have been under attack, right back to biblical times.
One cultural civilization opposing another civilizations religious spiritual beliefs."
For sure - religion has been one of the biggest reasons for fomenting war that there ever has been. Even looking at the history of Indian tribes in the Americas, there was a lot of warfare that was conducted to wipe the other tribe's religion out. Of course it was tied up in that they needed the approval of the gods to give them what they needed to grow food and survive and they felt if someone had a false god that the gods would punish them by withholding rain and causing natural disasters. But religion has always been under attack.

BIG talk with teenage son today
by Aussie Oz inyesterday i got to ask my kids what they thought of the convention they just had.
response was 'really good'.
daughter liked the drama but could not say why or what the lesson was... so i figure she liked it because it was more interesting than the regular talks.

My mother was all excited about the minister in Florida who was going to burn the Qu'ran. She thought it would bring the destruction of Babylon the Great. She even asked me, who has not had anything to do with KH and JW in years, if I thought it would bring "the attack on Babylon the Great". I told her "No" in no uncertain terms. What a big disappointment it must have been for her when that nutjob decided not to burn the Qu'ran.
How sad that so many are so deluded.

"on another note, i had the inestimable priviledge of viewing the october kingdumb ministry...in which there is a most enlightening article written apparently with sensitivity to the minimal IQ factors....in which they define various "parts" of the service meeting. First, there is a "talk". This is what a speaker does standing on the platform and the audience just listens. A "question and answer" part involves certain questions being posed to the audience. The audience may respond when called upon and parrot back whatever the "answer" is. Seriously....are they all brain dead???? How can they stand the stupidity???"
Love this comment - makes me think of how they would pick apart a paragraph in the KM and look for, and get, answers ad infinitum/ad nauseum on the same paragraph, pointless little blurbs of garbage. Minimal IQ factors is so right - everything is tailored to low IQ, including the admonishment to not hold hands during prayer.

Excellent article. A reminder, once again, that JW's have put their own interpretations on scriptures in order to form a base for their beliefs. This was good to read.
