I haven't had time to read all the posts, but I wanted to say one thing. I would never marry someone I had never had sex with before marriage. How do you know what you are getting?

Nathan Natas,
The first part of the article states he was interviewed by a reporter from the Globe Democrat, which was a St. Louis newspaper for many years. It is now defunct.

Do You Constantly Think About The Witnesses At This Point in Your Life?
by minimus ini was just talking to a guy who's been df'd for years and he still talks about things like it was yesterday in watchtowerland.. are you still consumed by your jw past?.

mimimimi
Nope, sure don't. My husband and children are not JW's and they are what my life is made up of, and my grandson of course. I only think about them when I am talking to my extended family who are in or when my nieces and nephews say things about it on facebook. But the majority of the time, I do not think about it at all. Life is good.

You should be able to get a post office box in order to get food stamps. My son (bipolar) did.

Does anyone remebr the "Rooming Work"
by exwhyzee inwhen a convention was to be held in your city and it was believed there weren't enough hotel rooms available or at least affordable ones, the witnesses living in that city were asked to go out into the territory and ask people if they had a room or rooms someone attending the convention could use.
you could report your time doing this as part of your ministry.
i could never bring myself (14 or 15) to do this....it just seemed too weird for a kid to go to a house and ask the householder for a room but many kids in the hall did this.

In 1970, there was a convention in St. Louis at Busch Stadium. I participated in the rooming work in Granite City, IL across the river from St. Louis. We went only to the best neighborhoods and were very particular about which homes would be accepted for rooming. Homes where the witnesses could use a separate entrance and not share a bathroom with the homeowner were considered ideal. Also, the homeowner was to be paid so much a night by whomever they let stay there. It was not free.
In the early 70's, cannot remember which year, my mother and two younger sisters and I stayed in a lady's home in Kansas City during the convention. She was elderly and her husband had died within the last few months before. The home was very nice, but spooky. The rocking chair on the front porch would start rocking early every morning at the same time with no one in it. We used a shower in the basement. We girls started accompanying one another down there to take a shower because if one of went alone, we could hear footsteps approaching the shower, getting closer and closer, but if we were all three down there nothing happened. Funny thing, the old lady would not stay in the house by herself. When we left, she left, and she wanted to know when we would be back and she would not come back till we did. We had the distinct impression that she did not want to be in the house by herself.

More importantly, how does Jehovah feel about bald gals? Is a bald woman able to be a Christian and be pleasing to Jehovah? Would this not fall under the same type of category as women wearing pants to the KH? For a woman to be in subjection, should she not always be dressed modestly, in a skirt, and with a full head of hair? Would her going bald be a disfellowshipping offense? (Tongue in cheek)

WT March 15, 2010 - Page 27
by St George of England inthis article to be studied in two weeks time, in paragraph 13, footnote says: "jesus is the mediator of that covenant, not a participant.
as the mediator, he evidently did not partake of the emblems.".
(note use of evidently again!).

"evidently" Again putting their own ideas in and speculating on what may or may not have occurred or what it may or may not have meant. They have to pick everything to pieces to fit what they choose to believe. I agree with moshe - Jesus would have partaken.
In all the Watchtower Society's picking everything apart and interpreting the way they do, they lose sight of what Christianity is truly meant to be. They are not Chrisitan - they are Pharisees.

Perhaps Had a " Ghost " Experience the Last 6 weeks on a Job ? You tell me
by flipper ini've never been one to believe in " ghosts " .
i'm open to the possibility that there may exist something in the afterlife or spirit world- i just don't know what it is.
having been out of the witnesses over 6 years i had my fill of being a jehovah's witness and being told how " scared " i should be of satan or the demons.

Having experienced things of a supernatural nature myself, I do believe in spirits. It does sound like you talking to this spirit satisfied it in some way. It may over time it will contact you again in some way, hard telling. It doesn't sound like it is harmful, however.

Seeing JWs in settings that one would normally not see JWs...
by undercover inthe topic "no shorts, no t-shirts, no paradise", er, i mean "no shirts or t-shirts after the convention" had a post that reminded me of an experience i had that didn't really fit the subject of the thread, so i'll start my own thread and maybe we can share stories about how we have spotted jws in unique or strange settings.. this is the exchange on the other thread that sparked my memory:.
my absolute favorite (not) was when i went to the international convention in moscow.
i got switzerland as the side tour, and even though the convention was over and we were in another country, the females all had to be in skirts or dresses wherever we went.

When I was still in, I would occasionally go to a bar with my unbelieving husband. One night, I saw another sister there with her husband. Her husband had been an elder in the past, was disfellowshipped, and later reinstated, but did not become active again after being reinstated. They were there with friends of theirs who were not JW's. This sister was very active, uber-JW. She came to me and told me she was there for the sake of her husband, and I told her I was also.
