hi people,.
i want as much data as possible on the effect of the internet on the time captured by the cult.. please answer the three following questions about yourself or about someone you know (for example, if your parents or grandparents were jw's and left).
1) were you raised as a jw, or did you convert?.

my middle brother called me a couple of hours ago.
our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.
he hung himself.
okay, i need to vent.
as a newly awoken individual, i have yet to "come out" to my hard core jdub parents.
my plan was to lay low and use my unbelieving husband and baby as an excuse for my "inactivity", it has worked for the last few months.
i'm just curious if anybody knows.
firstly i don't take issue with the man making money from his books and if he was able to live comfortably from it then i say power to him.
but what i'm wanting to know was just how successful was it and did it allow him to live out the remainder of his years in comfort e.g buy a house, eat good food etc.
not long after learning ttatt, my hubby and i decided it would be best for us to fade.
his entire family is in, but not in the same cong.
we made it to the region convention and one sunday meeting after that.
most everyone was very nice.
i did get a couple of we miss you soooo much and an elder that said he might drop by someday to say hello when he gets a chance....i'm already prepared for him if he should show up.. over all, it got finished and i'm going to bed..
dear (jw-brother), .
i was pleased and pleasantly surprised to receive your thoughtful letter.
thank you for your concern and for taking the time to write.
that was a quote from a dyed in the wool jw recently.
it was a complaint.. we all know that with 'new light(tm)' that the watchtower corporation's version of 'religion' has kept changing for a long time.
since i remember.....and i go back a long way too.
I was born in 1952. My mother was studying with the witnesses then and it was not long before she was a staunch believer. I can say the Watchtower Society has changed immensely in all these years. When I was a child there was not the money grabbing that has been going on for decades now. There was a real sense of urgency in doing the preaching work. And when you went out in service, you did not take breaks. I can remember being so hungry by the time we got done and went home. The Kingdom Ministry, which I believe was called something like "Kingdom Service" back then, each month listed peaks of publishers in different countries and we were all so proud to see increases everywhere, but of course at that time it was not nearly in the numbers seen in later years. Their teachings were all wrong of course, but it seems to me there was a more defined sense of it - not all the waffling we have seen in later years (this is wrong - you can't do it; new light - now you can do it, etc.). It was very rigid, of course.
My observation is that as we have become more technologically advanced and information and communication have become readily available, they have had to make changes to stay in existence. And they have had to reduce meetings, etc. to let up on time restrictions on people in today's world. And the money hunger - just amazes me how people can follow along when they are constantly being fleeced. It just shows how deeply they are deceived.
In looking at the evolution over the years, I can clearly see the progression of corruption. This is a religious organization that just sickens me, but truthfully I have not a lot of respect for any religion.
so i had a conversation with my brother some time ago.
i don't entirely remember how, exactly, but the following subject came up:.
"i wonder why god gave his earthly creatures needs... you know, like how we need water to drink, food to eat, air to breath, etc.
my name is jack and i'm looking for after death communications from the jehovah witness community.
an after death communication (or adc) is when a loved one sends a kind of message to this side of life after their death.
it can be a dream or smell (like perfume or roses that would be attached to them in memory) or a feeling of their presence.
