  i'm still trying to catch up on the rc broadcast posted to youtube, and i haven't been able to keep up with everything discussed here about it.

  however, there have been a few points that i wish i could submit.

  repeatedly it has been stated that unless there is a confession, jcs can only act on testimony if it is corroborated by two or more witnesses to the wrongdoing.

  You should email that info to Mr. Stewart. It would be a good source of questions in the grilling of Jackson if he shows up.

  Crisis of Conscience

  do you think that any of the clueless, amnesiacs that appeared before the rc will have a crisis of conscience over the abuse situation?

  seriously, with the grilling they received from our new heroes, they would have to be sociopaths not to do some long hard thinking about the lack of empathy and compassion the borg displays as a top down policy towards abuse victims.

  i can understand these idiots not having an awakening within the confines of their daily lives since they stay cloistered in their belief system, but the rc forced them into the real world with their questions and one would hope, made them think.

  Feedback on RC from JW Friendly Site

  there has been some comment on the latest rc proceedings on that well know jw friendly site.. one set of posts has been particularly interesting as the poster related their own experience as an abuse victim when they were a child in the congregation.

  this of course took courage and the poster deserves no criticism at all for this.

  While I cannot speak for the guy, I can speak for myself. Not only was I abused by an elder and the matter was dismissed out of hand by the JC, I have known women who were raped and then dfd because they didn't scream. I considered myself a strong, dedicated JW and while I never ever agreed with the crap I experienced and saw and I definitely didn't agree with announcing we shouldn't watch the Dateline expose (if we have an issue, it needs to be brought to light was my comment at the time), I was so blinded that I kept repeating to myself, "Jehovah will take care of this ultimately and these creeps and lousy elders would die." Rationalization rules when you are trying to cling to your beliefs in the brutal light of day.

  Since the TTAT, it makes me realize how much we have to stuff down emotionally, how much we have to dehumanize ourselves to stay in that piece of sh*t cult.

  It has been mixed for me. All the anger I was never allowed to feel or express as a 10 year old is coming out but I have been channeling it in a positive way (emails to the RC). It is a good thing I am not in AU right now with how enraged I get listening to the bumbling and outright lies. We should be seeing humble contrition.

  Spinks keeps saying he thinks of his children and grandchildren when looking at the policies--really??? That alone doesn't compel him to want change?

  I also sent Mr. Stewart an email of gratitude. I also gave him a brief synopsis of how I was abused by an elder and how I was treated by the JC here in the US. I wanted him to know that it is a global issue in the JW culture and while he can do nothing for me personally, by being the voice of the victims in AU he is a hero.

  How appropriate that they are talking about loving your neighbor given the RC nailing them for not caring that they unleash JW molesters onto the "worldly" neighbors with nary a care!
