Women can't face the audience from platform? Is this in writing?

i just read the thread about women & men waking up etc.

and saw a post saying women can't face the audience from the platform.

i thought, hmm yeah, now that i think about it, they're always looking sideways, like toward the other woman in the role-playing, or if they're being interviewed, they look toward the guy at the podium.

Post 1093 of 1093 Since 12/31/2009	I have seen translated talks where the female translator faces the audience. Though it is obvious that it is the speakers words and not the translators.

I understand that there is a recent Watchtower article where they show a "sister" translating in sign language with her head covered. Can someone please scan it and put it here? I can't wait to see that one .

The theme is written so that it seems that they are asking for IT to come... They seem to be desparate already thinking "it should've come by now" but nothing is happening. Now they are pleading for the "kingdom to come".

here's a fantastic idea to generate some demonic anti-buzz for all those 30hr auxpioneers coming april.. on april first, we rent a big tanker truck and fill it up with cow blood.

we drive to brooklyn bethel, connect a big freaking pump and spray blood all over the entrance.

NO THANK YOU. I THINK IS CHILDISH AND WILL JUST MAKE A POINT THAT SO CALLED APOSTATES ARE BITTER AND DEMONIC BEINGS. THE BEST WAY TO SHOW THEM IS TO LIVE A GOOD LIFE. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND SHOWS INMATURITY.

Can You "Read" People?

misery wrote on a thread how those of us who were born into the jw religion were taught how to read people.

we learn how to look for their weaknesses, their joys, what seems to be troubling them, what their yard looks like, etc.. do you have this ability, in all honesty?

i am told that i have that ability and it freaks people out sometimes (in a good way).

I'm glad to say, I do have that ability as well. But I don't give credit to being raised in the Organization, in fact it came after, maybe because of all the hipocrisy I saw while being there. I find it amusing and very helpful, although I'm not infallible at it. I've made my mistakes, but those have helped me to deal with the next person that comes with the same attitudes. It's a cool ability and I find it somewhat spritual and energizing. Spiritual, NOT RELIGIOUS.

that would explain the mass killings of people while still saying that he is a god of love.

I haven't heard that particular story, but it seems to go along with Greek mythology where Zeus and Hades are actually brothers (Zeus being THE god, and Hades, god of the underworld.)

Then that settles it. I've been postponing talking to my mom about my position because I didn't want to hurt her "controled" mind. She considers me only a fader, but in reality I have no desire whatsoever to belong to this Organization anymore. I've been inactive for 4 1/2 years, and she still hopes I'll be back. Then today, I finally wrote her a letter regarding my stand. Yes a letter, I always feel it is how I express myself better and avoid confrontation. She lives about 20 minutes away from me, but she is going out of town, to visit my brother and for my niece's wedding, and I decided to send the letter over to my brother's house. I thought that she might not want to be alone or around me when she gets this letter.

I guess I am considered an apostate then, because of "standing away" and "abandoning" the "truth". So what's next? I don't know, but I finally got it out of my system. I can't be happy and feel totally fulfilled if I keep holding in how I feel. We'll see.

This one makes you think... it is either use of tobacco or addictive drugs or misuse which implies that as long as you don't over do it is ok?

serious advice

am kind new posting here in this site... but i need some advice i got 4 bible studys i can no longer lie to them as am having lots of doubts whay do i do tell someone else to give them study, just stop going, tell them to look online about jw history, two of them are attending th kh so what you think i should do???

This is a very difficult question. Unless you are willing to step out all the way from the organization, face a disciplinary committee (or not), then be honest with the students and tell them how you feel. If you don't want to do that just tell them that due to personal issues you won't be able to continue giving them Bible studies and ask them what do they want to do. You may also ask how do they feel about what they have learned so far and to be honest with you, maybe they have questions they are afraid to ask, or things they disagree with and you may tell them to be thourough in their studies and not make a decision they are not sure about.

I understand you feel like a hypocrite by telling them things you personally don't care about or believe in, and that is certainly not a good feeling. But remember that there will be consequences to your decision and only you know how you will handle the outcome. Do you have family members in the organization? How long have you been baptized? If you have outside support like friends and family and you are the only one in the organization, then by all means do what you feel it's right. But if all your family and friends are JW's then you be prepared for the stress and the deprogramming, it is not easy.

Baby(ies) Died From Heat At Convention?

i recall reading from one source how babies were overcome by the heat at a jw convention, with at least one death.. if i'm not mistaken, this was in houston, texas, at the astrodome.. the story goes that doctors at the convention wanted an advisory about the heat read from the platform, but convention officials refused, stating that only wt related material was to be read.. it was stated that the doctors became so upset at this that they quit the wt on the spot!.

has anyone else heard or read that story?.

I wouldn't be surprised if that every happened. It is amazing because this morning I was talking to my husband recalling a convention in Miami about 19 years ago. My daughter was a baby. The temperature was sizzling and I started to get heat exhaustion almost about two hours before the convention was over. I started to feel sick to my stomach and I remember feeding my daughter and she started to throw up. I got so sick, but my "controlled" mind "told" me I should stay until then end, because it wasn't "appropriate" to miss the last talk of the convention. I had to leave anyway half an hour before it was over because I felt so sick. On my way home I started throwing up and everything else that comes with a stomach virus (if you know what I mean).

I felt guilty this morning because of my baby (then) and I could not believe how controlled my mind was, that I wouldn't even leave the &%$@ convention knowing that my daughter was getting sick too.
