Two Elders just left.

how wonderful it was... i saw two women over the road knocking on doors .

i could see they were jws...i prayed & asked they would call here... but no!!!!

the lord sent two men!!!!elders!!!!

You are my kind of woman! It is so wonderful that we no longer have the fear of man to keep us from expressing our views, isn't it? I love you so much. I feel your pain about your children. I have/am experiencing it. My son and his family stayed in the WT after we were dfd and we could not visit them or communicate with them for years before he died in 2007. We have great-grandchildren we have never seen. I am talking with one of my granddaughters on FB now. I do not know for sure, but think from what she is saying that she has left the WT, at least mentally. I do not want to ask her publicly on FB. I have a younger sister who is still a JW, also most of her family.

It is painful, but the joy of being free to worship God in the way we see is priceless.

i re-read it after someone posted to it and brought it back on active topics and it was kind of prophetic in a way ... well, i had the 5 years part right if nothing else:.

it would be nice to visit the site (or whatever one is around then) in 5 years time to let people know how we're doing and find only a few of the same people still around.

Hi Simon,

Randy Watters posted your Part 1 in his latest newletter, which caused me to go back and look up the other chapters of your life. Your story was great to read. Setting up this site was so great for those coming out and those JWs who are still lurking. I think it will be good for years to come.

There was a time in my life when I posted sporatically on JWD. However, I get hooked from time to time and read many of the posts here and then will go for a long time. My husband was an elder from 1945 at the age of 17 (Special circumstances caused the congregation to choose a pioneer because there were no eligible older men.) until 1981 when he stepped down because of politics in the congregation. We were Witnesses for 50 years (more or less). We raised our children as JWs. When we were disfellowshipped (as apostates) our oldest daughter had already left and our two youngest had already mentally left and it was a relief to them that they did not have to go to any more meetings. Our son remained a JW and we had no contact with him or his family (two granddaughters) for over 15 years before his death of a heart attack in 2007. Our granddaughter informed us of his death a week after it happened. Our daughter-in-law did not want to deal with us being at his memorial. My heart goes out to you because of your family. I am so glad to hear that your wife left with you. I do not know what I would have done if my husband would have stayed.

I am so happy to hear that you are leading a boring life. hee hee My life is boring too and I love it. I am not into all the drama that comes with being a JW or even leaving it. I now just trust God for my provision and protection and just live, doing the things I want to and not doing anything that is not of my making. May God continue to bless you and JWD.

Hi Terry,

I often wondered this. Why not use the most effective means to preach the gospel? I think you are right. The WT is designed the same way Amway is. Maybe Amway got the idea from them: Get 5 people to buy $200 worth of product each month. Get these 5 people to each go out and get another 5 people, ad infinitum. They do not care what you do with the product (I was told) You can use it, sell it or throw it down the toilet, but Amway gets its $200 up front.

That is what those who buy the WT literature do. It is a system to perpetuate the flow of cash to them. JWs feel obligated to commit to a certain amount of literature each month. They feel that, if they are to be considered "good publishers" to commit to more than they could possibly sell from door to door, so they give away the literature, put it in laundromats or bathrooms in public places, etc. They do this each month and this satisfies the leaders that they are doing their job.

I am so glad to be free from this controlling mindset.

i need to let you know that dad passed away this morning at 8am.

he fought so hard but in the end they could not get his blood pressure to rise and he died of heart failure.

It does not have to be just videos. I have a MySpace where I can blog and put my thoughts

down in writing. It is very easy to set up, just go to MySpace.com and follow the directions. Put

things like "blood transfusion" and Jehovah's Witnesses in the title so that it can be Googled.

I hope you do it. If you do not feel comfortable trying to do it yourself, find someone to help you.

your story on a blog somewhere like UTube where it could be

found by those looking for information about JWs and blood

transfusion. You never know who will look at it. This message

is so touching, it even might touch some who are still JWs.

Oh Ruth,

I am so sorry for your pain. I do not have words to tell you how much I feel for your loss. It could have been our family who lost someone to this policy of not taking blood. We were all in that mindset. We did not know anything but what we had been taught by the Watchtower. We conscientiously believed it was the right thing to do. I cannot tell you for sure what I would have done in the same situation, but I am pretty sure that I would have done the same thing you did. I REALLY believed that it was the truth.

We have all done things in the name of Jehovah, that we regret. I am sure none of them could be more painful than losing a child in this manner.

I really believe that God reads our hearts and that He knows why you did what you did. I know that He is sorrowing for your loss too. I believe that your Dak is with Jesus and is happy.

I know your pain. My son died of a heart attach last November.

He was a JW still and we had not seen him or talked to him for over 15 years. We did not learn of his death for a week after it happened.

Death is cruel, but it is comforting to believe that it is not the end, but only the beginning of eternal life. He was a beautiful and talented young man.

My heart and prayers are with you. May our Lord Jesus comfort you and sustain you.

Forgive yourself. I know that Dak does, and know that his story will help others.

please, its from the wts society and may help you, if the family who are witnesses have taking the shunning issue too deeply.

disfellowshipping is a very serious matter.17 the apostle paul wrote that christians should "quit mixing in company" with persons who unrepentantly reject certain scriptural standards.18 this is strong counsel, but jehovahs witnesses obey it.

however, contrary to muramotos assertions, when a family member is disfellowshipped, personal ties and non-spiritual association are not terminated.

Disfellowshipping is one of the most hurtful actions that can be taken against

another human being. It tears families, friends apart! I did not see my son nor my grand

children for 15 years. I have 6 great-grandchildren I have never seen. My son died last

November and I did not hear about it until a week afterwards. We were not allowed to

be part of his memorial or to grieve with the family!

I saw the testimony of an elder who under oath said that 'disfellowshipping does not involve

family, it only involves the congregation'.

I sent it to my son, asking: "Is this a different policy than what the WT had before?" and he sent

me copies of the 1981 WT which says in effect: "have nothing to do with them". This is part

I know from personal experience that Witnesses will not associate with or communicate with those who are disfellowshipped.

I commend your attitude, but would venture to say that nothing you can say to those who are part of the WT hierarchy (GB, Elders, COs, DOs) will accomplish anything in changing their policies, esp. because you are a woman and they do not listen to women in the WT organization. I know from personal experience. I asked a question of an elder once regarding my understanding of a scripture and he told me to 'go home and ask your husband'. My husband was at the meeting with me at the time. I consider this extremely condescending and know that it happens often in the congregation. I wish you Jehovah's blessing and guidance in your walk.
