  Humbled , Iv'e seen the work of Trevor Philips. A very smart and sensible man he uses good data to prove the issues he presents. Isn't he the one that introduced the word Islamophobia and now regrets it?

  Barry— yes he is. He is very strong in why the liberals approach to multiculturalism is a fail.

  His parents were immigrants and he maintains there is no way that assimilation can occur in this present situation. His essay is a long piece to read. I found it astonishing and blew my worktime on reading it through. No regrets though.;

  I called my daughter in NYC to tell her his grasp of the issues of insular populations, some marginalized but others simply walled off are a disaster within a country. What is encouraging is to read an unflinching estimate of the problem and what is at stake—but he has a thorough analysis and then steps to address the particulars. Bless Tommy for stirring things up ( maybe?) but Trevor Philips has thought beyond the rage and frustration.

  The defense could have made the charge that Tommy’s livestream tainted the trial. Such an outcome is unacceptable for the value of a live stream.

  The damage is done on the time lost to deal with massive immigration. Human displacement is an overwhelming problem. We face it in the US.

  So is it War? Civil war?

  edit: of course war is what you do when you have no alternative. But it is spoken of by at least one fellow over there. But why not give a listen to fellows like Pearson and Philips? Because they have to my thinking, a plan an approach to this terrible problem.

  Those who have cited the failure to assimilate should listen to these guys. Tommy doesn’t have a solution that l have heard. He is vocal and angry but it will not solve the problem.

  We have people aplenty here to stir things up. That Philips put his finger on a good many matters that we in the States should consider.

  Barry- Pearson complains of the same problem. The problem of not being able to address the expectations within Islam and the expectations within the law of the land. Pearson is to my thinking not right nor left. The same is true of Trevor Phillips.

  Passwordprotected mentioned Trevor Philips, a fellow who used to be a liberal. The man is not a tool. He is not in either camp. He is for opening people in Britain to the problems that will not go away without vigorous intervention.

  Agreed. Simon and Barry, the law has been an ass and there are nearly 3,000,000 Muslims in England. What can be done? Is they’re not assimilating that is a problem.

  Recognize, please that many Muslim women want changes . And Barry —push the law! If the law is weak then remember that pressure can bring change. That reporter Andrew Norfolk hounded official through the Times for four years. Story after story until they moved. Tommy Robinson didn’t break the story. He and others who agitate will not create the template for a good outcome. There are many ways that bravery works. Lord Pearson is brave and smart. Tommy muddies the waters.

  Have a listen here as well. This woman was in England for a while after she left Iran. She is an activist. Her father was a farmer and policeman. He spit on her in public for her activities. Her life is in danger. She doesn’t like the way women are treated.

  The problem of radical Islam and plain old ignorant Islam is not on the doorstep-It is in the living room of western countries.

  This fellow is discussing thing that l believe would have applications in the U.S. I posted the link to a daughter for her to chew through it. It’s pragmatic.

  i have come across this individual in the course of some local history research - back in the late 18th c his aunt and her husband owned the estate where i now live and his parents settled nearby.

  he gets credit for a victory at ogdensberg in the war of 1812.. is 'red george macdonnell known to the average american/canadian or is he an obscure figure?

  Do you find these things in church records, obscure histories, collected letters? The land records go back—how far? The estate was very large/important?

  Unraveling history of a person or place is a good study in how a narrative of a life dips and dives in and out of sight. Good luck on finding out how George died in Wardour Castle. No clues, eh?

  Thanks to phizzy for that complete legal treatment of what has gone on with this confusion on Tommy Robinson arrest this last go around.

  Of the things I have read written either here in the US or abroad what he wrote is the most complete breakdown of how we arrived in the thick of cultural/religious immigration problems from misguided simplistic liberal views. He makes the best proposals to create better models going forward.

  l can’t imagine you were talking to me, passwordprotected, about supporting lslam. I posted that video with the damning account of the Pakistani (Muslim)rapists caught with the child. I am for law not lynching. There are brave Muslim women who fight for western values for Islam. I can’t ignore them.

  How the numbers are kept on who is a radical and who is not but what l read says there are a lot of them in Britain.

  That girl who was shot in the head by Muslim radicals, Mahlala Yusephsai is a Pakistani Muslim. Is it so hard to distinguish between a rapist, or a murder and his victims that you are reduced to stereotyping? If there are Muslims who do not want criminals in their communities find a way for justice to sort it out.

  If radical white “justice” ever resorts to profiling Muslims as automatically guilty for being born then hope your own young white son never goes to prisons. There are prisons here who did this to black men. What goes around does come around.

  Racism is never justice is it?
