  Barry, aren’t they counting rapes in the entire U.K. in that article above ?

  No doubt in cities where the rape gangs were primarily made up of Pakistani men show a higher percentage. ( wow, this is crazy to talk about rapes like this. Isn’t it?)

  I was able to read the latest posts before work early this morning so l got to think about them all day.

  Luhe- I have read the statistics on that 90% so many times and I am feeling silly about it. It says the crimes against children reported have been perpetrated by white men in 90% of the cases. It is possible I am at puding head. It is possible that as Bandicoot says, the numbers are not to be believed because the authorities simply don’t report assurately.

  And l admit that every time there is s new thread about the tardy discovery of more abuse by white JW men l understand why Janice doesn’t take here eye off the long history of girls being sexually used and ignored.

  If ever I thought the concern over the growing threat of violent extremism wad overblown l see it now as a threat. Though over time I believe we will see the pressure is a feature of a global population that has boiled over its social organization. Bandicoot supplied a video that outlines political, intellectual development that misguided western society and it might have affected some.

  But the raw numbers of raw humans are being impacted by massive global forces that are not looking at the working people anywhere in my view. Hundreds died today off the coast of Tunisia trying to get to Europe. They are hungry and frightened enough to risk death to find better lives. poor people.

  At the same timel don’t feel there is any doubt that there is a growing problem of violent Islamic extremism and the loss of hard won progressive legal and social structures in the European democracies where Muslims now live. The non-Muslim are afraid and often hate them. The immediate problem is avoiding a war .
  

  The violence could come eventually. Geert Wilders and Tommy Robinsons press their rhetoric as though they are the only truth bearers. They are not. Better minds and better hearts are working and speaking. But for many the shouts of angrier voices hold their attention.

  How to stop the country within a country from overwhelming the progressive values of Britain’s? I will post a link that provides the only data that l find credible about Muslim views and the scope of the problem.   Without accurate information no one has any basis on which to act.

  I will continue to watch this thread as the conversations have been good and tough. The struggles to assess facts,issues, disagree and find the areas of common ground and common concern are important.

  Even though the Tommy Robinson matter and the Islam troubles abroad are not yet acute in the US the problems of unresponsive government is similar. But ways for citizen to participate and be included in social development ( not mob action)l is broken.

  One thing that wasmentioned far back is the prison systems both in the UK snd here. They are hothouses for hot heads.

  We’ll see if Tommy gets out. But others need to take over if he does.

  How to deal with struggling with the doctrines

  this is my first post.

  i'm still a jw but am inactive.

  im struggling with the fact that i agree with some of the doctrines (i,e, the stance on the trinity, there is no hell) but i disagree with a lot of things (i,e, men can't have beards, women have to wear skirts).

  Welcome Dval. So many of us have been in the situation you are in. Here it is safe to breathe and to say just what you have said.:

  I m struggling with the fact that I agree with some of the doctrines (I,e, the stance on the trinity, there is no hell) but I disagree with a lot of things

  If you have lurked long then you know that we kick these ideas around. We treat WT teachings as though they are debatable. We allow ourselves the same right to examine doctrines as the guys at Bethel allow themselves. After all, they have admitted that they are not infallible and well we know: they have changed major teachings over the years when it suited them yet we are disfellowshiped for questioning or researching doctrines for ourselves.

  (the procedural problem was caused by my independent selection of what i wanted to study).

  JaniceA—About 23,000 cases were recorded by police in England and Wales, in 2012/13.[4] Around 21,493 sexual offences on children were recognized in 2011/12. The statistics do not include the children aged 16 and 17.[5] Some 90% of the sexually abused children were abused by people who they knew, and about 1 of the 3 abused children did not tell anyone else about it.[2]

  The true number of offences remains doubtful, generally assumed to be larger, due to expected unreported cases of child abuse.[6]

  A 2013 study undertaken by the National Crime Agency's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (CEOP) found 75 per cent of offenders in grooming-gang cases were from Asian backgrounds. Other researchers have said that the study's sample size was too small and more research needed to be conducted.[7]A 2017 report by Quilliam International, created by British-Pakistani authors, found that 84 per cent of people convicted of specific grooming-gang crimes in the UK since 2005 were South Asian, with most of the men convicted being of Pakistani origin.[8][9] John Pitts, the Vauxhall Professor of Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Luton, cautioned that the links made between Pakistani Muslim culture and child sexual exploitation may have been "too simplistic", writing: "...[I]f the cultural determinants of street grooming are as powerful as [Quilliam] believe, we have to ask why only a tiny fraction of the 2.5 million or so South Asian men in Britain, most of whom have been exposed to similar cultural beliefs, do not perpetrate these crimes."[10]

  However, approximately 90 per cent of those convicted of child abuse and that have been placed on the sex offenders register in England and Wales are white males. [11][12][13]

  Londo snd Fink-and lamallcool have said some things l agree with. I wish other guys would also talk to you about the way dating and courting are in the Organization . They would warn you that the information snd the restricted social network in the halls is BAD BAD BAD for finding snd developing a healthy marriage.

  This is viewed as an apostate website. You should honestly ask why you look here for honest help. I can tell you why. It’s because we will tell you the truth straight up the way we have found it.

  Now ask yourself this one: what would this girl think of your zeal if she knew you were talking to us about her? You are dead meat.

  You have normal interests of s young man. Learn a good trade of get some extra learning and get out of a place that will always mess with your marriage. That girl is not a bad girl . But she is s JW and that is not in your heart. If you want to have a chance to be happy get away from all that.

  You will find a sweetheart somewhere else. My boys did. So will you.

  Not posted for a year because mum died did not want blood.

  i posted here weekly until a year ago when my mum died of a mild form of lukemia which is easy to treat with 2 blood tranfusions a month.

  you can live to 100 with treatment, but no my mum chose to die a faithful witness after 2 years of chemo and hell for her family and doctors.

  her chemo doctor cried when she only had weeks left to live knowing that she could be saved with one bag of blood!

  Witness007, It is hard to remember how l would fill out that blood card—Our supposed badge of honor. Once l left and became very ill l was relieved to know l had no restraint on finding therapies to keep living.

  As others said, your mom was strong in her faith and that secondhand comfort is cold comfort for you-but l hope it was something of a comfort for her.

  l wish you well now. And l hope you let what peace can come to you , let it.

  seems like such an obviously correct decision to overturn the previous overreach - it should never have been necessary to go to the supreme court but happened because the rights of the religious were being ignored.. as the fundamental level, no one should be able to compel you to work for them or to provide services that go against your beliefs, and certainly not have the government be able to force you to comply.. if this was allowed there would be so many unreconcilable situations that would clog up courts over nonsense.. i also have little patience for these activists that intentionally look to be offended.

  it really doesn't do their cause any good to go round looking to make trouble for people.

  I agree that this is a good outcome. They should not be required to essentially “bless” gay marriage. I wouldn’t want the bad mojo from those bakers anyway.

  To DoC’ s point to refuse service for perceived “color” : that must be condemned. It is beyond question that there are things we ARE BORN with. We are born to color and too bad if they believe that b—llsh-t about Hamm.

  Many people- especially those bound by archaic religious text -deny there are but two gender realities with which we are born. And this new world of fluid sexuality is still foreign to society. But the gap is disappearing as well it should on color.

  They damn well better decorate a cake for whatever colored couple walks through the door-unless they are gay.
