I used to grow twenty plus types of peppers because I wanted ripe ones. Most of the peppers in the store are green and they taste so much better when fully rippened. The ripe ones will not cause as much stomach upset as the green un-rippened ones do (like green apples).

Peppers respond very well to magnesium both mixed into the soil and sprayed on the blooms. It keeps alot of the blooms from falling off so you end up with more peppers.

Epson salts is magnesium which can be beneficial for vegetation but it does not contain potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen that all plants need. Peters and Miracle Grow contain Nitrogen, phosphate and potassium.

Anyone else serve as a juror ?
by moomanchu injust finished jury duty today, what a pain in the behind.. now i can't sleep, keep thinking about everything.. judicial system seems like a big bueracratic waste of money.. i found the oaths here in pa interesting though :.
the oath is part of centuries-old language still in use in most courtrooms.
pennsylvania's oath is derived from colonial laws of the commonwealth, enacted in 1772, and reads: "you [and each of you] do swear by almighty god, the searcher of all hearts, that the evidence you shall give this court [and jury] in this issue now being tried shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth and as you shall answer to god on the last great day.".

I got removed as a juror because I had a bad attitude. And that is exactly what I wanted since I am self employed and the $12 a day plus mileage would not replace the $3-400 a day that I would normally make. Back in the mid 1950's when then juror compensation rates were decided that was an above average days pay and there were no shortages of unemployed people wanting to be jurors. The problem is they never got around to inflation adjusting the rates.
Now I have a blown lumbar disk so I will never have to deal with jury duty again.

I enjoyed some of his acting and I am sure he is a nice guy. However he did not exactly set our radios on fire with Air America with a 1.5 share then dropping to 1.2. Compared to El Rushbo's 13.5 share it was smart of him to get out and try to move on.

Here are some ideas. You could build a wind farm off the shores of Martha's Vineyard and have the "progressive" Kennedy, Kerry family and and many others block it in court.
Or you could take advantage of the ever present winds in Eastern Washington and put up wind turbines only to have the county council severely limit the number of turbines per acre. If by chance your local county allows it then you have to deal with the animal rights camp opposing it because the turbines will kill a certain number of birds.
There are many green power ideas but we just have to get the enviromentalists to stop opposing them. The net result is no green power and a bunch of people that come off as complete disingenuous hypocrites.

Global warming is really trendy and progressive to talk about but I see very few if any walk-the-walk. I am not seeing solar panels and wind turbines going up on houses or more people riding bikes and using less plastic. It is the new religion of secularism coupled with the endless doomsday state of mind.
There are the "I hate oil companies" crowd that is always trying to find more ways to get other people to join thier little party. Fear is always the best way to get peoples attention.
Maybe we should build more nuclear reactors and hydroelectric dams since they both have a zero carbon footprint. Does anyone think the greenies would be open to that?
What about that awful power company in California that just built a solar power station. They want to put in power lines to get the power to the city but the greenies are blocking them in court. The lines would go through part of a state park.
There are numerous examples of green power being blocked or fought by enviromental groups.
hypocrites.

first of all i am in chicago, so we get tons of stories about the woman.
is she any different from any other wealthy powerful person, probably not, but she certainly is not the golden child she presents herself.. 1) she can be demanding (not any different from many wealthy rich people) and if you do not ask how high when she says jump, you are fired.. 2) she is known to agree to something, disappear for a while and then people get a form letter from "her people" saying that oprah cannot participate in ___[fill in appropriate word here]_____.
