Wild game is the healthiest meat you can get. No hormones, no dyes, no antbiotics or pesticides and very little fat.

People sometimes label it as "gamey" but the reality is commercial meat is very bland. Maybe all the crap they put in it is so it has at least some flavor.

I did alot of hunting and fishing when I was a "dub" and yes it cut into my service time and I did not give a S&^%.

ive been reading some terrible reports about the american mortgage market, and the subprime mortgages aimed at people with poor credit ratings and poor ability to pay.

(and of course poor ability to understand complicated and deliberately obscure contracts).. frankly the whole thing is exploitation in the extreme, imo.

there was one report on the bbc about how poor black areas were targetted, and people were given an introductory offer of 1% and not told that this offer lasted only one month before ballooning to 17 or 18%.

I always tell my younger friends to use a 1:4 debt to income ratio and not the 1:3 the bank uses. They get completely intoxicated when they find out "we prequalified for it" and lose all sense of reason. My wife and I have a 1:20 ratio and we still are not sure where all the money goes each month.

My wife's uncle manages CTX Mortgage and boaght a $2 mil house just over a year ago. If anyone should have seen the writing on the wall it's him. But no he got caught in the insanity just like the rest. The rest of the family was asking him "are you out of your living mind?????".

Nobody has aked what his monthly mortgage payment is yet. Since he is in the mortgage business he is not making anywhere near what he was a few years ago. So it doesn't look like he will hang on to it much longer. Since he is the biggest poser I have ever seen this will be extra rough on him.

Does "Zero Tolerance" seem to be getiing insane?

this morning a local radio show was discussing zero tolerance and bringing to light some of the crazy stories we've seen in the news lately.

i didn't catch where this happened but a kid was suspended for hugging a friend who had just lost a loved one.

the school had a no physical contact rule.. in birmingham, alabam, a girl was sent to alternative school for taking a midol.. did some reading on the web about it this morning.

We are fortunate to have an affordable private school just 2 miles away even though we live out in the boonies. As Thesilence mentioned if my daughter was in a public shool at least once a month I would at the school district building threatening someone(s) with death or severe injury for some new stupid ass regulation.

It seems alot of school district personel no longer are able to think or use basic common sense. It could have been from head injuries, disease or even birth defects, who knows but the neurons no longer seem to be firing.

The longer I am here the more confused I get. I made the mistake of posting a serious topic on finding godparents/guardians for our kids. Since most of us here have JW family we probably do not want them to be raising our kids as JW's if both parents die. My hopes were to get some great input and insight. Instead it died within minutes and I got two replies.

Maybe I should have titled the thread "Bath or shower? which somehow got 272 views and is on it's second page allready. WTF?

It's no freakin' wonder so many are leaving.

When we had our house built I did not have two years of self employment so my income could not be used to get our mortgage. Only my wife's could be used and our only way of getting a mortgage was to go with an ARM that was 1% lower then a fixed. But within six months I had two years of self emp. and in less then a year the interest rates dropped and we switched to a fixed. IMHO we used the the system vs the system exploiting us.

Too many of my friends bit off way more then they could chew when they bought a house. My wife and I tried multiple times to convince them to be happy with a smaller house or live farther away from the urban area's. Not one of them listened and they all have either sold thier house at a loss or are in foreclosure now. I see an equal amount of blame between the lenders and the borrowers.

A couple of my friends I would not even loan $10 to and expect to ever get it back. But here comes a bank to lend them $250K secured only by a overvalued house in a spiraling market. A problem this big has to have more then one guilty party involved.
