Oldflame, I was illustrating absurity by being absurd. Countries that have a very low violent crime rate do so by restricting the criminals and not any given tool that could be used as a weapon.

How can you have a high crime rate with guns so restricted there? A background check before that axe purchase may have prevented that victim from serious injury.

I love my model 94 Winchester 30-30 and feel it the most fun gun to shoot
Oompa, I have to very much agree with you the good old mod 94 is a great all around rifle to have. I have a 94 and a Marlin both in 30-30 and I will not part with either of them. I don't like the saftey button under the lever since it has gave me a few blood blisters but other then that you can't beat it.

Business will talk-the-talk in a heartbeat if it means increasing revenue and dividends for shareholders. That is thier job.
I used to avoid global warming threads but each one forces me to research and I end up learning something. Until a couple days ago I never realized the Arctic Sea has routinely thawed enough to allow ships to navigate through it.

Until ten years ago I had an FFL, sold firearms and manufactured ammo as a home business. I was able to get a good collection over the years with the dealer discount.

Stainless mini-14
Siamese Mauser converted to 45-70
Cobray M-11 with a legal suppresor
Stainless 6" S&W 44 mag
SKS Paratrooper
.410 Derringer double barrel pistol.
The most valuable (sentimental wise) is a very old dinged up Rem .22 bolt action my old gramps gave me. Each time I shoot it I get a flood of memories when we used to go plinking when I was a kid.

Excellent and intelligent post! It's just the latest tactic to get people to hate corporations who otherwise would not.
How many JWs do you think there would be if the "big A" was not part of thier doctrinal teachings? Fear is the oldest tactic in the book and it is still used because it still works.
