general apathy about religion.. i don't know precisely when it happened.
but at some point i began to stop needing anything 'organized' in my life religiously.
not too long ago - as attested to by multiple threads i started here - i was still wishing to replace the ritual of religion at the kingdom hall with some other church.
Thanks for your thoughts.
It was about 10-12 years ago that I came to the same reality.
I am at peace. Peace with myself. Peace with my fellow humans. Peace with my FRIEND Jehovah.
I simply let ALL do just what they what, be it from a religious, political, or financial viewpoint.
Yes it's a great feeling.
I try very hard to be just ME.
ibme and the rest can just be themselves.
disfellowshipping is frequently held up as an example of how jehovah's witnesses are different from.
other religions and how jehovah supposedly keeps the organization "clean".
question that needs to be asked is if disfellowshipping really keeps congregations morally clean.
Amen!!!

does art imitate life or does life imitate art?.
700 post in 5 years.
my goal is to do another 700 post in the next five years.
Newboy, Sir,
I have always enjoyed reading your posts.
Especially the ones on your bethel experiences. Believe it or not, I would wake up
every morning, go to my computer to see your addition thoughts. It was very refreshing.
Personally, I am a person of few, few words. My motto is: "Less said best said"
I would personally like it, if you wish, just to pop your head up every now and them
just to let us know as an OLD TIMER (like myself) you are still alive and well.
Thank you sir.

i like to consider myself a bit of an island.
some might call what i do anti-social.
as an island, i have to face inescapable facts - those being that sometimes, i must travel to the mainland.
Enjoyed the many comments.
It's like you all have been following me around and writing down what I do and say.
No, I do not believe we are weird, just us.
Thanks

many libraries do not have copies yet, as it is far from 'mainstream' reading for most people.
i propose that we can all do a small deed that can/might be a huge favor to our former 'brethren' in the 'truth'.
check with the local library, see if they have the books on the shelves.
Great idea.
Thanks

i got this in an email today and it came at just the right time.
some days the pain we experience from our loved ones shunning us simply because we have chosen a different spiritual path can be excrutiating.
if i had chosen a life of immorality or a criminal path, perhaps i could justify it to some extent, but all i did was study, research, pray, and choose to go in a different spiritual direction.
The people who truly love us do not shun us. The rest, like your poem said, we must let them go. Keeping in mind that it is others that have seperated from us. If in time there can be some mutual respect, we can accept them back and let love heal the wounds. Thanks for your post. IBME

There is something that I personally appreciate about this forum. I have no fear of what the WBTS is looking on. Why? The people here try their best to apply these ten tips for a better human relation. While we can not personally speak too, see ones smiles, etc., by our choice of written words we reflect what type of person we have come to be. (The responsible ones with the WBTS could take a lesson [Sorry about the constructive criticism, really]). Ten Tips for Better Human Relations 1. Speak to people. There is nothing as nice a cheerful word of greeting. 2. Smile at people. It takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile. 3. Call people by name. The sweetest music to anyone's ears is the sound of his/her own name. 4. Be friendly and helpful. If we would have friends, be friendly. 5. Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything we do is a genuine pleasure. 6. Be genuinely interested in people. We can like almost everybody, if we try. 7. Be generous with praise. Cautious with criticism. 8, Be considerate with the feelings of others. It will be appreciated. 9, Be thoughtful of the opinions of others. There are usually three sides to a controversy -- mine, the other person's and the right one. 10. Be alert to give service. What counts most in life is what we do for others. Add to this a good sense of humor, a big dose of patience, and a dash of humility and we will be rewarded many fold. Speaking just for myself. Folks, I use to post on the OLD H2O regularly. And WBTS was there also. Looking. At this point there is something I would like to bring up about the old H20. I noticed something. The same thing I noticed with the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. They had a GOVERNING BODY, a group of people, about ten. I heard it called, The Governing Body of H20. It made no difference how well you thought out your data, yes you know the ending. Again I would like to say, "I appreciate this forum". I do not after watching for quite a few years see the ugly head of an GOVERNING BODY OF JWD. That's a gooooooood testimony of the persons who post. It's also testimony that all are working to apply the ten tips for a better human relations. My thanks to the ones on the forum that are working hard to see to it that JWD will not have the OLD H20/WBTS governing body stigma. Don’t worry about whether or not the WBTS is watching. Thanks IBME
I wonder if the Skull and Bones secret society has anything to do with this subject? I believe it does. Won't harm to look into their goals and workings. Thanks
