What is God?

i have yet to find a personal set of beliefs that will satisfy my mind, but one thing i am starting to get sure of is that there exists no "christian" god.

the reasons for that belief aren't many, but proof that god exists isn't that plentiful either.

i use the bible as proof god doesn't exist as it depicts it... others use it to prove he does, in fact, exist.

What I want'd to say is that a minimalistic version of the bible's content might be of help to convince all the people:

Not 100 or 1000 several exegese books.
The "GOLDEN RULE" Jesus Christ told us.
The name of the Almighty God and its meaning.
The need of a new righteous world order and his coming, promised.
And the "new scrolls" to be opened, (see Re. 20:12)
IMO, that must be enough

For in 2014 it is hundred years after Jesus Christ's invisible recurrent, and besides, many years the Kingdom of God lasts now, I think its now high time the WTS should come out with the NEW SCROLLS..,-)

Independent of Armageddon comes meanwhile or not! They have no right to let the mankind waiting until Armageddon, and forbid them simultaneously to hope at any sort of scientific HEALING of the world (because they think that "scientific efforts for an uncleaned satanic world are wasted")

THEY MUST COME TO KNOW THAT SCIENCE COULD BE A "VEHICLE" MANAGED THROUGH THE ALMIGHTY GOD !!!!

Oh yes.
For this reason, a high "spiritual entity", but of lower state than YHVH/JHWH, has become a human being. "The son of God".
To show what is "Gods love",
We know it was Jesus Christ.
We should follow his boot-traps - to go the way of "truth".
Sure you know all. I need not to say more.

The very main problem:
I think, we'd need a minimalistic religion.
Throw away all hundredth of books and literatures and bible-interpretations and explanations and exegeses and so on...

What are the base instructions that human beings have to obey in order to live a good life ?

What is the base God's nature all human beings could agree and comply with ?

Ask all people all around the world. In all religions. I'm sure that they almost would give the same answers. The base is found in the bible.

You could unify all people with that base. All around the world. It is only a matter of good will.

"YHVH/JHWH", spoken: Jahwe or Jehovah (that is about: "I shall be proved") means a specific formal system asserting absolute universal validity. It also implies a universal teleological principle of order which overwhelmes the 2nd axiom of thermodynamics. No type of beings could live only one millisecond if this principle would cease to exist...

Besides, the sentence "I shall be proved" asserts its own decision procedure on provability, truth, completeness and consistence; through a specific formal system, that it "induces to be".

Beyond this above mentioned scientific base, YHVH/JHWH implies a spiritual entity, a "person" we cannot imagine or point out or figure out at all...

In fact, the true God has nothing to do with that type of picture figured in the book "Isaias Prophecy" on page 90, chapter 8/9. That is idolatry, nothing else...

how many jws know the name of their current president?.

everyone knows about russell, rutherford, knorr and franz.

most know about henschel but i haven't come across any that know the name of the current pres.. i believe it's don adams - and he doesn't even claim to be one of the "remnant"!

Have you got any idea why it'd necessary to establish so many different firms and corporations?

Following NEW corporations:
>Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses (Incorporated 2000)
>Religious Order of Jehovah's Witnesses (Incorporated 2000)
>Kingdom Support Services, Inc. (Incorporated 2000)
have no name-relation to "Watchtower" anymore...

Probably - should this be a hint that they are trying to get away from their "roots" ??

I presume in some years every member of the "great crowd" has to wear a distinguishing mark, such as at the army etc.
It's to characterize any sheep of being a PRINCE (MS, elder, CO, DO or higher..) or a plain one..

yes the sun revolves around the earth....it moves from east to west.. this is why galileo a 15th century noted inventor, astronomer and mathmetical genius was excumminicated by the catholic church.

the scriptures state that joshua commanded the sun to stand still!

if the sun doesn't revolve around the earth then this command would be really stupid!.

That's not quite correct.
Joshua wrote down what he saw. His experience was subjectively made.
No objective scientific view. Nevertheless, subjective experiences can be seen as "truth". Same happened during the "deluge".

is it just me, or is "everyone" on this board bitter?.

i do know alot of happy jws and, i could not see them being anything else but jws.... .

this is just my take on what i have been reading on the boards sence i joined up...

we were never s'pose to die????

out of the many things from the bible i wonder about there was one i thought i would share with you all and see if you may have any interesting insights on this issue.. according to the bible man was suppose to live forever, no sickness, easy childbirth for women, just your basic paradise, right?.

so ok, we all know that because that wretched eve screwed it up for all of us and everything we now have suffering and death.. my problem with all of this is this: what if all the people who had ever lived had never died?

how many of us would there be on the planet?

The bible says that Adam and Eve got advises and commands directly through God or his Angels (every day at "the breezy part", see Gen 3:8. I'm sure you already remember). For that reason it is seemingly clear that human being were always informed about steps to take live an optimal life on earth...

But contemplate the following situation:
Scientists in 10 or 20 years probably will be in the position to provide eternal life for mankind (there are indeed some reasonable indications..!)
What will happen then ?
How can you stop birth's and overpopulation?

You see: The matter does not flee if one closes his eyes. It will be there in near future. With or without bible; with or without WTS; with or without JW's....

this edition of the watchtower has got a mistake on page 22 in that i don't think that the sheep shown on page 23 would have been woollen.. originally sheep were hairy, but selective breeding by `farmers' produced wooly sheep.. cf.mummies of urumchi/qi which i was reading only a few days ago.. .

watchtower need access to reputable sources of information, i think!
