  The Memorial

  i saw some mention of this in another post, but i wasn't sure if there was a topic about it.

  being raised in the "truth" its always pointed out that even people who haven't been to meetings in years still come to the memorial.

  ive noticed that a lot of time that is actually the case.

  Are we suffering from a victim mindset?

  i don't want to be disrespectful or cause needless disputes, but there are some thoughts that have been bugging me.

  i have to wonder why former members aren't doing more to combat the power of the watchtower society.

  of course, i realise that some have made great contributions and others have to first make their own healing process a priority.

  Has anyone considered the fact that because the WTS is so hypocritical, secretive, and monstrous, that it will eventually fall on it's own? Do you have any idea what will happen if there is an apostate revolt against the WTS? Every single faithful member, and most who aren't, will be convinced that Jehovah's Witnesses DO have the truth, Satan's world is finally attacking "Jehovah's Organization", and the Great Tribulation is closer than ever. Current JWs will cling to the "nucleus" of the congregation and their eyes and ears will be stopped even more, if that's at all possible. Any doubts they had would be washed over w/ the "fortold prophecy" that you helped accomplish. There are many, many XJWs who still have the teeniest bit of contact w/ their JW relatives; maybe a letter, email, or card every year or so. If there was a radical attack against the WTS, you bet your ass that minimal contact would become NILCH! Stop thinking about yourselves and how to get your revenge and justice. It is so obvious that you may have left the WT, but the WT is still deeply embedded in you. Once you let go of your hostility and bitterness, you will be at peace and you can pursue things that make you happy, like a degree and family, instead of wallowing in misery (which has become a comfortable place). If you want to make a difference in this world, you should start w/ yourself.

  well over 30 years ago on a lovely spring morning, my mother held me for the first time and looked onto my little pink face and said, my little baby is going to make a difference.

  i heard her recount this story over and over throughout my life.

  i never really understood what my purpose could be.

  Well over 30 years ago on a lovely spring morning, my mother held me for the first time and looked onto my little pink face and said, “My little baby is going to make a difference.” I heard her recount this story over and over throughout my life. I never really understood what my purpose could be. Would I grow up to help better my community? Would I care for and educate children? Would I become a world famous doctor? Would I save an old lady from being hit by a car? I have forever been contemplating this.

  I have recently found out that I have made a difference in someone’s life. He has been both touched and honored by my courage and compassion. I will be known in his lineage as the person who helped him achieve his goal and dream. My name will be spoken of w/ great respect and admiration for generations to come.

  What is great deed you may ask? Well, anyone who is anyone knows that you are judged and defined by, not only how many MySpace friends you have, but also by how many people have you listed in their Top Friends. I have made R.F.'s dream of being someone’s #1 MySpace friend come true.

  i read an e-mail forward today, it was a really great idea i plan to implement this weekend.

  basically take how many years you think you wil live (beyond now), multiply that times 52, and get that many marbles and put them in a jar.

  every weekend, take one out.

  I feel your pain. Apparently there are a lot of us who are overwhelmed, frustrated, and tired here lately. Remember a few weeks ago when you made me smile?
