We're having my seven-year-olds first birthday party at the local Chuck E. Cheese (yeah, I know but it's what he wanted). I don't especially care, but if a dub sees us and reports us (as you know they would), can be we be df'd? Like I said, I don't particularly care, and wouldn't be sorry either. Just curious...

Dog Dazer
by Blueblades infrom stoops manufacturing company, distributors of service supplies.this genuine dazer tm uses discomforting, but not harmful, high frequency ultrasonic sound to deter unfriendly dogs.. what i found interesting about this ad is that they claim that "ministers" use this device.
in the 33 years of field service i have never seen anyone out in service use this device to ward off unfriendly dogs.. have you ever used such a device out in service?
have you ever seen a minister use one.

I've seen it used multiple times. Our PO ALWAYS used one and several of the pioneers did too, once he set the example and made it "acceptable." It always made me nervous because if I saw someone uninvited on my property using something like that on MY dog, I'd be furious!

Not aJW, but have a question
by roseybarb ini hope it's alright that i post a question, even though i've never had any affiliation with jw organization.
i have a friend who has been trying to convince me for years to study with jw.
i've been doing alot of research on jw and was just wondering if people here would be kind enough to tell me why they have decided to quit their affiliation with jw organization.

Two pivotal things for me: 607 BCE held as a seminal year that all JW chronology and doctrine is based on, and the idea that the God they worship is willing to kill millions and millions of people who believe genuinely and sincerely they're doing the right thing. There are a whole world of other reasons, but that was the tip of the iceberg for me.

If all the guy lost was his money then I think he should be grateful. Usually the cost is a lot higher than that! :(

List of family/friends lost to the Watchtower cult? (suicides)
by hubert inafter reading about puternuts (ari) suicide, and also reading about sabine and js losing their daughter to this cult, i think it would be a fitting memorial, so to speak, to write a list of all the people we know who died because of this cult.
i also know that cruzanheart lost her dad to it, too.
i'm sure there are many here that can make a list of suicides brought on by the shunning/threatening policies of the watchtower cult.

For those who were raised in "the truth"
by Hangin_on inhow many of you always felt like you would be killed at armageddon no matter what you did... it was never enough and your parents put a guilt trip on you?

I absolutely KNEW I was going to die at Armageddon! And add to that the horror of knowing that my son would die too because I wasn't good enough and he wasn't yet "of an age of accountability." I felt sick about it all the time. I remember telling my husband he was going to have to be good enough for both of us for my son's sake because I was definitely not going to make it...

Not sure - I was nearly hired for the hospital but found a better job in Woodland. I really like living in Longview, but the drive down to WSU Vancouver is hard after work. The nicest part, for me, is that we had only lived there a couple years before I faded, so I don't know many of the R&F here and they don't know me!
