we talked, we laughed, had moments of reflections and some new revelations on things.
I'm sorry we missed it. My brother and I talked on the phone about the meet-up whukebhe was driving from your house to mine, and we continued until the wee hours of the morning once he arrived here.

i had an extraordinary experience today that i feel compelled to share with all of you.

today i added to my blog pages 4-6 of the 13-page submission by a doctor of psychology that is a watchtower appointed elder.
he had ideas about elder involvement with jehovahs witnesses suffering mental illness, and particularly victims of child abuse, and thought it best to share these with watchtower.
I noticed that the writer referenced a November 1988 Watchtower that addressed "severe" abuse being a reason for marital separation. That's strange, because in December 1988 the elders in my case tried to bully me into staying in a marriage where my jw husband not only confessed to beating and strangling me, he was also forcibly committed to a mental hospital by his own doctor and a judge for threatening to kill me.

had a talk with an elder-friend-family member today who said i should just do it if that's what i want to do, and my wife says if that's what i want to do that she's fine with it.

Being that this brother wrote these documents in 1992, I wonder how he could remain a jw. Everything he warned the gb about has come to fruition. It seems to me that his professional advice was ignored and continues as such right down to this day.

Serenity, Akron would've been closer for me, but my husband had the van torn apart replacing parts on the underside that weekend. Yesterday afternoon after running around all day, he was checking under the hood and found two more problems that he couldn't get fixed on time for today's apotafest. I would love to meet you too! You're the same distance from as you are from Akron, taking a different route.
if i may, i would like to offer another glimpse into the strange minds of the writers of the more recent watchtower study editions, this time on the topic of sport.. no doubt like many of you, i enjoy playing sport because (apart from anything else) regular exercise stops me from becoming fat and unhealthy.
during my time as an active witness, i often had the opportunity to play sports with other brothers, although i became increasingly frustrated that this was not (in my case) organised on a more regular basis by those in my congregation; rather, games of my particular sport were organised less and less frequently until they became virtually non-existant.. things have improved considerably since i became inactive and was improperly shunned by those 'brothers' i used to play sport with, because i have begun playing my particular sport with so-called "worldly" people in my local community.
apart from allowing me to get back into some semblance of shape (thereby keeping mrs cedars happy) i am also able to keep in touch with my neighbours and be more sociable with those who live near me.
This stuff shoud be forwarded to every children services board and guidance counselor offices on the planet!
recently stopped studying, and stopped in the street to talk to a jw i met during my time studying.
we were sorta friends (well, in the small way jw's and worldlies can be) and here's how it went:.
him: "did you have a problem with someone?
You're very quick on the draw for jut being a study! Good for you!
i attended the school late last year, and it was an emotional and mental rollercoaster for me.
i was already divided in my heart to say the least.
one of the instructors stayed in my home for the week, and my family genuinely enjoyed his company.
Somebody said, "No one comes to the Father except through me." Um, who was that? I can't seem to recall his name. Let me think for a minute...Oh, I know, it was JESUS! Too bad the Watchtower Society seems to have forgotten that...or covered up that little tidbit.
