Look at it this way; you will be going out and encouraging "worldy" people to look up the Watch Tower on the internet. You don't reallly think that most of them will just check jw.org, do you?

PEER PRESSURE!!! I gave in to Pioneering during August...I feel dirty...
by stuckinarut2 inok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......

Interesting experience at work re: convention invite
by sd-7 inso, a guy i know and would sometimes chat with briefly at work came to me recently.
he said he'd been invited by his neighbor to attend the upcoming jw convention.
apparently, he had heard that i used to be a jw and wanted to get my thoughts about whether he should go.

The Memorial- Passing the emblems, a prime display of weirdness
by Darth Fader The Sequel innot sure if this bothered other people, but it absolutely drove me crazy!!!!.
ok, typical annual memorial.
the emblems are being passed around.

I don't believe in Satan or Satanism, but the passing of the emblems without partaking still creeps me out. I read somewhere that Satanists have the same ceremony in order to reject the body and blood of Jesus.

Would you do this to your kids? Is this cold or am I crazy?
by BU2B inmy mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.
she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.
she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.

You can buy a 10 X 20 tent in various colors, (too bad the pink is out of stock), for a little more than $90. We bought the 10 X 30 last year. It really is nice quality, and my husband put it up by himself, although the directions say it takes about six people to do so. Here is the link:
Good luck with the Princess Party! The pink tent would be just perfect, but the white one will do for that and any other event. Also be sure to give your in-laws an estimate on how much they'll have to pay for their anniversary party. Just think how much money they'll save by using their dusty old tent, LOL!

by Still Totally ADD inboth reopened mind and i are now in our early 60's and it seems our conversations lately have been on putting everything up for sale and buying a rv and travel until we can't anymore.
it has been a dream of ours for along time to see all the site's in the u.s. and canada.
we feel we could make money as we go by selling and teaching using herbs and gardening.

I'm doing okay, TotallyADD; thanks for asking. You could still do what I've advised, except you could rent or sell the Florida house.

Are you able to live in the Florida house now? If so, I'd say start your gardening and herbal business in PA now and go to FL in the winter and start one there. You may be able to get someone to run it in FL whle you're traveling back and forth between the two states and hopefully making stops to sell on the way. Also, have you considered buying/renting a camper van? They are less expensive to buy or rent and will use less gas. Or if you have a pick up truck, you could always get one of those campers that either attach or can be towed. Then once you're old enough to draw Social Security, you can decide if/what to sell.

Your wife has been considerate of you, so return the favor to her. Practice some kind of blanket response she can give to people who ask about you. Help her get ready for the meetings, and take care of chores and odd jobs while you stay home. Have a nice surprise such as a dessert, glass of wine, etc. ready for her when she gets home. Then start proposing fun things to do as a couple (or family if you have kids) during meeting times.

A Warning for anyone with Fibromyalgia or CFS
by LisaRose ini had been hearing about a food supplement that has shown to be a promising therapy for fibromyalgia or chronic fatique syndrome, a food supplement called d ribose.
i tried it and was impressed with the results, so i have been taking it for the last three months.
unfortunately during this time i have also had intestinal issues, which have gotten progressively worse, to the point it was debilitating, also nausea, dizziness and a mild headache.

My husband has congestive heat failure. If you're in the US, I'd be happy to reimurse you the postage.
