What is wrong with the Memorial date this year?

the memorial is supposed to be held in nisan 14, jewish calendar.

that day is april 19, 2008. why is the memorial being held this coming saturday march, 22?

The gb probably decided to have the memorial in March, because Armageddon will surely be here by April.

NEW TRACT CAMPAIGN PLANNED....

....for october 20 - november 16.. there is a new tract to be introduced, with the title "do you want to know the truth?".

it is not a "kingdom news" campaign - after the campaign, this tract will join the "regular rotation" of tracts to be used in the field misery.. it is designed to replace the "do you want to know more about the bible" tract - the goal is to use it to start "bible" studies.. the goal is to cover all of the congregation's territory in 4 weeks, similar to other campaigns in the past.

unlike other campaigns, though, the congregations can order as many as they would like - they are not limited to 50 per publisher.

But really folks, how many times can even elders get excited about the same old recycled shit? I'm plenty excited, though. If there is a big push to place this tract, maybe a jw will finally come to my house. Please, as soon as someone can scan a copy, I would love to have it. I'm thinking about making a binder with copies of news articles about the pedophile and UN scandals and this: http://www.quotes-watchtower.co.uk/ with the tract as the front cover. I would say something like, "I already know the truth. Do you?" And, btw, that po who is calculating the time of the end on his own is standing on quick sand. He will promptly be df'd if the WTB&TS get wind of this.

A Protest at Bethel

at this stage i intend to do so on my own; although anybody willing is welcome to join me.

how do you deal with bullies?

my daughter is in 6th grade.. i know from personal experience when i was in jr high that kids can be really mean.

i used to come home crying everyday.

i was told that i was ugly and i would never get married.

If you Google bullying there are tons of websites with advice for the bullied child and his or her parent. Your child has a right to a free public education, so I wouldn't let this drop. You can contact the principal of your daughter's school and insist that some type of program be put in place. In my part of Ohio, there is a woman named Susan Tucker with the Summit County Domestic Relations Court that institutes programs in schools. I covered one of her seminars for the newspaper I wrote for at the time, and it was really informative. The programs are multi-tiered and involved kids, parents, teachers and school staff. It's been a while since I attended the seminar, but what stands out most clearly in m my mind is that the kids program included a peer group that actually took part in dealing with a bully. One of the exercises was that kids in the peer group actually surrounded the one being bullied with their backs turned to the bully. Though completely silent, it was quite compelling. Most kids have been bullied at one time or another, so formation of this peer group should be pretty easy. The vast majority of bullies are troubled children who must be singled out by adults and children alike, before their behavior escalates to criminal activity. One of the stories related by Tucker was about a policeman's son who was assaulted by a bully. No action was taken, because the police officer was familiar with the bully's criminal parents, and he felt sorry for the kid. A few years later that bully committed a murder. lots of 'worldly humans look back with affection and positive emotion at their past life and loves and adventures!

this is especially true for periods in life humans have often devoted themselves to!.

it is lovely to see and hear ones with natural experiences and happiness to relate!.

It is not enjoyable to relive:

JW stepfather's nastiness, elders counsel that was ignored by him, and later

the beatings, threats, my crazy husband at the time, driving into oncoming traffic, the meetings with doctors and judges and the resulting men in the white coats taking him away, the elders telling me that if only I could be a better wife, my mom begging me to ask the elders to let me repent of my "sins"..no nostalgia here I'm afraid.

My brother and I both suffered some sort of abuse either from stepfather or spouse the whole time we were jw's with the elders ignored it all the while. It was horrifying.

I don't know if the father was a jw or not. The article said he was watching a religous program. Unless it was "Knocking", I don't know of any other jw programs on television.

Breaking point

although this is my first post under the name journey edge, i have been a member of the board for a few years now.

i just needed to change my identity to avoid being traced.

i left the truth a number of years ago after 20 years in the faith.

I know what you're feeling on many points. First, I was a child of parents who had a bad marriage (both before and after my mom became a jw). Though the break-up of a marriage is very traumatic for children, they are ALWAYS BETTER OFF living in a peaceful household, and they will see that eventually. Second, I was in a marriage with an abusive jw husband who suffered from mental illness. Eventually I came to the conclusion that you CAN'T HELP SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T WANT TO HELP HIMSELF. Staying with a mentally ill husband who doesn't see the need to get treatment is hurting him, you and your kids. Who knows, maybe he'll shape up after you leave? Or, maybe he'll commit suicide after you go, The point is, only he can determine what will happen to him, not you. Your staying and putting up with his bs may be what he is talkiing about when he says that you're trying to control him. Third, he is manipulating you by accusing of doing the very behavior that he is doing. Fourth, you need to make a plan. Get into counseling, get a job if you don't already have one, seek out services for housing and legal and living assistance from charities and government programs, and LEAVE.

I 'never' answer the door when JWs come a knockin' but . . .

i 'never' answer the door when jws (2 men) come to the door, well, yesterday i did,,and i couldn't help it.

i dominated the conversation,,wouldn't let them talk much,,stayed on the blood issue for the most part, about 6/7 min., they excused themselves & left.

they were kind of like deer facing headlights of a speeding car.

I wish people would talk more to the jw's about the child molestation issue, because so few of them know about it. The WTB&TS brags about the blood issue, but from what I hear, they very seldom attempt to defend their record with covering up for pedophiles. I would love to talk to them about it, but they never come to my door. I don't know why, because I live in a small town where there is a kh. I don't think they know that I'm df'd, because my last name is different now than what it was then, and I got the ax in a different state more than 20 years ago.
