did you use wt dates as well as things found from a secular perspective?
if a witness was researching the 607 dates strictly from watchtower info, would it still become clear they are wrong?
or does the wtbs *make* the dates add up...?

at the end of the 80's the wts published "mankind's search for god", about the global mainstream religion's.. what's your opinion about this publication?.
i think it was written for use on the weekly bookstudy, there were questions for all paragraphs.. after the publication it was never used at the bookstudy, and it was only rarely used in the congregation.. .
I thought it was a very fair, unbiased and interesting look at other religions.
Um...until I took a college course on world religions and realized it is a pretentious and artfully manipulating way to trash any religion that is not JWland. Some of the statements were taken way out of context (what a shocker) and were deliberately inflammatory. Much better disguised than many of the other books, but not an unbiased view by any means.

no they arent.
they have to go in service every month as a requirement to stay in the club, if not, they become inactive or irregular.
Good point. "Unpaid" doesn't mean "volunteer". Never thought about it that way before.

Kinda with FF today, but at the moment, when people HAVE to be right and so there are pages and pages of responses to threads that should be ignored. Meanwhile, the OP is off somewhere laughing his/her ass off at the ruckus they've caused.
When people trade following one set of rigid rules and beliefs for another and apply the NEW rules/beliefs to every single situation.
When I don't sleep well for several nights and spend the next few days needing to vent and take the first opportunity to do so b/c my self-control seems to have deserted me.

i would be interested in your opinion of the following:.
a friend told me about an incident that had happened in a neighbouring congregation.
she told me that a sister from the congregation needed to get back to work after a meeting but discovered that she was boxed in.
One of the saddest things about all of this is that I suspect she didn't feel she had the right to tell him No - what with him being a Man and an Elder. So the victim will get blamed for allowing this to happen when I doubt she would have had the emotional wherewithal to say No.

No, and I think it's crazy we pay them so much when people are starving around the world, teachers aren't paid a living wage, etc etc (gets off soapbox).
