[RECAP] Southern California day-at-the-beach

thank you to everyone who made it out to the beach yesterday.

it was a fantastic event.

HI< I am so glad I was able to attend. I drove and took off work and drove from Vegas down and can't wait for the next one. I had to leave early since we got too cold and will bring tons of blankets to sit on beach. I was only there about 5 hrs. but was captivated with the experiences of other church members I completely related to. For Happy Guy to put this all together I appreciate highly. Funny how listening to other cult members and seeing their pain and knowing they are not alone when they talked to me made it a great experience. I thank HAPPY GUY again and know I have more friends in this world because of this gathering. EllaElla

My First Birthday.....

i awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.

Happy birthday, start one person at a time to start trust, that is my motto. Have a great one, now you can enjoy and appreciate another year on this planet, not saying good!!!! get out of this hellhole one year closer to Armaggedon!!! Right????

deaf aotearoa flooded with complaints about jehovah's witness churchkashka tunstalllast updated 15:22, october 6 2015deaf aotearoa has asked the jehovah's witness church to respond to claims of a deaf information database.new zealand's deaf community is fed up with unsolicited house calls, claiming the jehovah's witness church is targeting deaf households.deaf aotearoa has received multiple complaints from around the country and says church members visited certain homes because they were aware a deaf person lived there.

the organisation released a statement on monday, saying it was looking into the possibility the church holds a database listing the details of members of the deaf community.jehovah witness spokesman rod spinks said there was no such database and deaf people were not being targeted.the deaf aotearoa statement was posted on the group's facebook page, and received a flood of comments from frustrated people.one woman said a group of jehovah's witnesses had come to her house and asked "for the deaf person who lives here.

" she said they refused to explain how they had her details and didn't visit her neighbours.another said church members had turned up at her work and asked for her by name.hamilton man royce flynn said he had been visited six times over the last nine months, despite repeatedly saying he was uninterested in the house calls.he said the church members were always able to sign and also brought deaf people along, which lead him to believe he was being singled out.flynn said contacted local police, who told him it was a privacy issue and referred him on to the office of the privacy commissioner.he said he had been been in contact with local labour member of parliament sue moroney.deaf aotearoa acting chief executive jill dean said complaints about the church were a recurring issue.

I am in the states. I am a sign language interpreter that was trained in the religion at early age and signing on all assemblies and meetings w/tons of bible studies.

YES ,we had a list of where to go for deaf people and I know the Interpreters working in the schools, when able to underhandedly get where the kids lived, wow!!! all of a sudden interpreters of theirs, from school would show up at their doors. It would be very very hard to shake your own school interpreter from visiting you since you knew you would be seeing them in a day or two in the front of your classroom. That is one of the many ways people would somehow pop up at a persons door and somehow started signing, probably they say just coincidence that the angels led them. Even finding out that kids had deaf parents some how round a bout their address would come be found out and people some how knowing how to sign would show their faces at these doors!!! Innocent???? Yea right!!!!!

My Husband Lies

my husband went to the assembly at the weekend.

he lied and told them "i don't know"!

Well, I left in 2001 and stayed w/ my husband going till 2013. He always told everyone the same, ask her if you want to know. No one called. Only thing is when he did chose to talk to me about anything, it was less than any way he would talk to anyone in the world. I think the feeling that why waste time w someone that will not be with him in the paradise and he will get a new wife was the reason why he talked and treated me so bad. I would never ever needed to be talked to or treated decently since I was so much on my way to destruction. He would say he didn't feel that way as he was yelling it at me. So I DO know the hard place you are in.

Witnesses called for a bible study

hello all.. i haven't been here for some time to post as mainly i read the comments and such.

yesterday was a really interesting, unnerving experience though.

two sisters had called last week when i had an abscess on my tooth and was sort of sick from it.

Before I divorced my husband, as he continually tried to preach to me about, voting, door to door,.....everything, I would let him know" you for got to say it this way" or when you count your time w/ people you can't say it as convincing as you should". I would let him know that it is in Rote that he is speaking and I talked like him when I was 3 on the stage as a Witness and said it better than what he was trying to tell me. I told him to go back and practice on how his delivery was just then when talking to me. Boy he would fume!!! But I meant if he wanted to be good at convincing people to join the Church he needed to practice and someday he could be as good as I was, he had such a ways to go!!!!

Strange but Sad!

i had a couple of elders come visit me about an hour ago.

they wanted to inform me that a brother who was well known throughout the circuit had died.

(i actually knew about it but did not go to the funeral) he was about to hit 90 years old, missed it by a few weeks.

Funny, even when I was adult married w/ kids, I was told by my father(elder) not to park in front of my DF'd brothers house to p/u his wife to go in door to door work for day. I saw him on the street and was told to never ever look his way. I didn't because I wanted my brother to saved at Armeggedon and if I looked his way he would have never ever wanted to come back. If you were a GOOD witness you DO WHAT IS PREACHED to you 3 x a week for every day of your life. ONLY if you were a good one. Very sad now, all us kids are out and living life good!!!! Parents still in and dictating to all what to do. Hope all listen to them as perfect as we did!!!!

threads on the newer jw face of public "witnessing" have shared in common the astonishment that jws safely park themselves behind their literature trolleys and exercise incredibly little contact with passersby.

whether the poster is talking about europe or the united states or australia, descriptions here are the same.. literature stands are protective sheilds behind which jws huddle, talking to each other, sipping on their espressos, whilst the disinterested world passes by.

neither the jws nor the passersby catch each others eyes.

Funny, I remember sandwich plaques we had to wear at ass days and now I drive by the 7-11's and circle k's near me and they are talking on phones or sitting on comfy lounge chairs just talking between them. Don't look as stupid as they made us when young then busted butt going door to door all my life. Now they have it made in the shade

Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses

allow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.

i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.

some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

Hello, I am newer on this site but it seems Jeramy that when listening to your words it is like listening an Elder. " There are problems in the Religion but look at the good only and ignore the problems, Jah will take care of those things in his own due time. " Not good or bad about your feelings, just have heard it hundreds of times since raised from daddy being an Elder. It is all Cooool

was wondering in southwest area of us is there any one that would know of way to get-to-gether w/ ones possibly i knew all in growing up lets say in callifornia or nevada from the 1970s to present?

i would love to see if any one else was able to leave because of all that was found out about this organization.
