so yesterday i was watching the news and i saw something about secret santa.
there is this movement of people who hand random strangers $100 bills at places like laundry mats and thrift stores.
so i was "moved" and decided to give it a shot.

to be fair though, this makes more sense than the bailout schemes floating around congress lately--and they should have been bombing chicago instead of afghanistan.
and well...this settles the hullabaloo surrounding obama's birth certificate also.. we were treated to all the lefty idiots come out of the woodwork the last 8 years.. "begun, the clone wars have.".
China and Japan owns this country now. (they hold over 40% of the debt notes on this country... over a trillion dollars.)
OPEC controls this country...gas is back under $1.50/gal....local light rail and bus service is getting their budgets slashed after record ridership this year... everyone back to old driving habits....wasteful wasteful country we live in here.
Me.....I just go to work, come home, go to school...rinse and repeat....try to mind my own business...
Funny.... knowing there is no New System or Paradise Earth to bail my ass out now that I have a savings account (for my retirement) of about $350.... dollars....not thousands of dollars.... there is some comfort knowing there will always be a Walmart Greeter job in my college educated future...to supplement the Social Security wait...I will have to work at Target too as a cart boy just to live.......

last year i had a very happy recipient and that made me happy!

My only experience with giving gifts to a GF:
I once sent a dozen roses to my (now ex) JW fiancee overseas..... she was mad that I wasted $60 on roses ...(thats a lot of money in her country..not that she was poor or anything)... she said the roses were bad quality.... how was I to know that it was a 100 degrees in that country and that the local florist supplier who delivered them did not do so in an air conditioned vehicle? I seen the roses on the webcam, they were alright, but could have been nicer I called the US-based company that I ordered the flowers from. The rep that I spoke with was very upset about what happened and offered to have new ones sent via a different supplier.... I got my money back instead.
Of course, this was the same woman who didnt like the Black Hills Gold necklace I sent her (though admittedly I did not know about the huge fines imposed on gold being shipped there....6 weeks in customs and a $100 fine ..or likely bribe ...had to be paid)... of course, in comparison to the 24K gold chunks of jewelry that were in her collection...my mere little neclace gift was a mere cracker jack toy... (so much for "the though that counts").. I should have known that relationship was doomed after those two incidents. Only cost me another $3K to fly there to find out.

last year was the first time I participated......and my first xmas post-JW.....(I got a real nice gift from my SS that was much appreciated... and a nice friendship of the person I was assigned to send a gift....even if they do call me a smartass periodically.......lol . )
I have no idea if my recipient has picked up their package or not. I know it has been delivered...but since their address, like mine, is a PO box, maybe they havent been to the post office since it got there yesterday. I dont worry about it until after xmas..I just hope it made it in one piece (though the amount of bubble wrap should protect it from all but the Samsonite gorilla)
...I know folks are busy this time of year...
(oh..if someone sent me something.... I havent been to the post office today...too much ice and rain...stayed inside all day....so I have no idea if its there or not...I will go tomorrow to check)

a couple of hours ago when i got home from shopping the telephone rang my son answered it he said, "mom, aunt mary just called and uncle richard just passed away", i was just devasted.
it isn't sinking in.
my mind isn't somewhere else.. i believe i mentioned about him in a post a few days ago that he was just diagnosed with pulmanary fibrosis, i am in total shock, as the doctor told him he had about one to three years to live.
