right now i am a little pissed off.

for the second year out of 3 i have sent some one something and spent more than was needed to because i care about x jws.

last year i had a very happy recipient and that made me happy!

Majel Barrett Roddenberry Has Passed

called the "first lady" of star trek, majel barrett roddenberry passed away yesterday in her sleep.. she played nurse chapel in the original series, and the voice of the computer in all the series, and i believe was cast in that role for j.j. abrams star trek re-boot.. .

as a fan of star trek, i am deeply saddened by this news.

I Hope Everyone Has a Merry Christmas...

especially those who have no family with which to spend it.

do you think maybe next year we could work on some kind of sign up sheet or something for exjws to get together, so everyone has somewhere to go?

i would be more than happy to host guests who are in or could be in my part of ohio.

this lady and her husband are very kind, dont get me wrong. I met her when I was doing some work in another field. I helped them out by helping her find work when they were having a slow time in their business. Ever since, I have been her "little brother"... genuinely nice people and a great friend post WT (she even commented that I was a nicer person since I left the cult)..

My friend's daughter and her husband, on the other hand, are hard to tolerate... they dont treat their kids right...I dont think they are evil...just unthinking and unkind...and very immature.... Even her own mom (my friend) has serious issues with they way her daughter treats the grandkids. Dysfunctional does not describe the daughter. . I have a longer fuse with my patience level than I ever had as a dub, but even this young gal pushes those limits. Anyone who knows me knows it is a feat for me not to tell the daughter off about the way she acts and treats her children (my friends g'children). I cant do 2 holidays back to back with her around. I dont need the stress. Makes me physically ill.

I have an open invite for dinner at the mom's house and will take them up on it over time. Does that explain it? I just was not comfortable.

i had an offer to go somewhere tomorrow...but I went there for a couple hours for lunch on TurkeyDay...it was kinda strange.

I think I will make tomorrow a stay in day. I wanted to go see family in Alabama, but dont feel like driving 10-12 hours.

I got 2 packages today at the house, neither a SS gift..just textbooks for school....... nothing but bills in my PO Box...

mine was originally a .....wait....wait.....a snake

I changed it to the current sunset pic when I decided that I needed something more peaceful in my life. (I took the pic on the way home from Little Rock visiting purps, RF, and LRG last year)

other than that, only those 2 pics... I dont think I even changed it during the werewolf games...too much hassle to upload...

Driving on Ice

i had run some errands today, got out the house close to noon, and it was about two hours before i started home.

came out of aldi's and the parking lot was slick with ice.

i get on the road, all the roads are slick with ice.

we had ice down here in the st louis area.... I had a friend call me and told me he was driving around and no big deal...in his truck...then apparently he skidded...something about having to let me go ...he needed to pay attention to driving....lol

black ice is unpredictable, unseen, and uncontrollable once you hit it...

i stayed home all day long...me and the cat... curled up and read a book...

I realized the single pane windows in my bedroom have no storm windows... damn ...it got cold even with the furnace turned up and a space heater... poor cat even crawled under the covers ...and for a change I didnt have the heart to toss her out (not completely altruistic, she was keeping my feet warm)...

..so I took another comforter, loosened the mini blinds a little, wedged the comforter under the top part, tightened them back down...and it warmed up nicely) ...I need to go get some plastic for those windows this week...

Was single digits yesterday...supposed to get in the mid 50s by Friday and 61 by Sunday... weird weather...
