Please i need guidance

i know im young.

i know i still have so much to learn i mean im only 14 but but even at a young age i have learned and i know what love is.

Not to put a too sharp a point on it, but in the minds of the Witnesses, YOU are a "worldly person", i.e., an undesirable in their world if you don't convert to JW.

On the other hand, the girl you are "dating" would not be considered a "strong" Witness if she is dating, a) at all at a young age, b) dating a "worldly" person.

Good that are you are thinking things through. We might have good intentions giving you advice, but we are strangers.

So, my advice to you comes from TWO poinnts of view: I am the father of a 14 year,old son AND I am a former elder in the Witnesses and left the cult. MY ADVICE ...kindly, gently, stop dating her. You are too young, and the cult is dangerous. Be friendly, but put some distance emotionally between you. Cool down.

If in a few years she leaves the cult ON HER OWN NOT FOR YOU and you reconnect later in life, that would be great...but don't hold your breath.

our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.

probably going to take a week off work for bereavement.... hell the company offers 5 days for close relatives and I hate going to work for many reasons these days. wasn't going to, but so much BS going on there, ...probably wait until next week when my mom comes through town on her way back from iowa.

not sure where my grieving process is at... people at work know because a) I posted it on FB ... because I got tired of being asked a bunch of questions so i just posted it... and b) it's just a weird topic and no one knows what to say to the family left behind. Also, I told my boss I didnt want to hear any more drama... no time for it... lol

I am so tired emotionally. My middle brother (not JW) and mom have taken over ...my mom made stupid decisions that cost her more money than needed when dad died 20 years ago, and I'm afraid she is doing so now. she (age 72) and my stepdad are going to drive 2 days from Alabama to Iowa to "take care of things", way too much rushing. No talking to me about any of it unless I ask first.

My JW mom thinks Josh is asleep awaiting resurrection. **eye roll**

His friends, without asking the family, have started a large gofundme account already at $1500 of $2K for a tree planting and plaque in a favorite park. They planned a gathering next Sunday, a 5 hour drive each wsy...just after getting back from this trip 13 hours each way. I don't think I can get in the middle of it.

What I want to do is just get back home and sleep. Not be bothered with anyone.

I realize from all of the posts on FB that I did not know my brother any more. The only tears I have shed are from reading your posts here, FB, and another forum. The outpouring of kindness is unexpected but it helps.

Anyway, I will check back soon.

I am overwhelmed by the responses.... I started to cry... just a bit. I speed read through all the pages so far, but I will go back and read carefully everyone's post again... I just couldn't keep reading.....

but you have no idea how much these posts mean to me. Some of you know me personally and we have interacted in real life. Some here are screen names showing real human beings behind them just by taking a moment to post something...... something I never got while in the cult.... real humans -- real feelings.

Correlation decline JW numbers and JW broadcasting?

i read some impressive figures here about the decline of the jw numbers in 2015.. could there be a correlation between this decline and the start of jw broadcasting?.

hence, that there would be an negative impact because the gb is standing so nearby, you can experience the idiot reasoning of their doctrines sitting in your own living room?.

I cannot bring myself to watch JW Broadcasting. I met Lett in person when he spoke to our MTS class (62nd US class, May 2002, St. Louis, MO). That guy is more ridiculous in person than on the broadcast. Real fu$king moron.

And that rubber face speaking directly at ME from the platform during graduation announcing that the class was made up of 24 regular pioneers and 1 starting back up in September....clapclapclap... uh wait, did anyone ask the ONE....ME...whether I WANTED or was ABLE? No. The rest of that story I have told elsewhere on this board.

Since that day....I have Fu$king DESPISED STEVEN LETT! Screw him and the whole WT...I hope the whole compound in upstate NY becomes a toxic waste dump. Decline? How about ZERO.

last night we were invited to a get-together with quite a few heavies attendingelders and regular pioneers.

there was beer and later some music.

everyone got relaxed and let down their guard and starting talking all kinds of non-theocratic stuff that you only discuss after a few beers.

I had a public talk I used to give as an elder, don't remember the topic, but I admitted, from the platform, hating FS, and I was a regular pioneer, elder, MTS grad...LOL.

Always generated alot of honest conversation at lunch with the group afterwards. I even said $hit like that on away talks...fun to watch elders eyes bug out...though if I liked the PO, I might, MIGHT, give him a heads up. I gave a lot of away talks, oddly I was asked back, despite the off outline editorials....

So, I believe the OP's story....it happens.

a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.

i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.

I almost married a sister from India. I met her family here in the US. They introduced us and we online dated for 9 months, We flew over for me to meet in person, and it ended the day I landed in India. Leading up to this, I had opportunity to call the India Branch ServiceDesk to do some background on her. The brother said that things there were "very different" than the way things were done under the US branch. Lots of underhanded things in the congos, like bribes to elders to ignore JC...lol.

Point is, India has always been on the margins as far as WTBTS Corp is concerned.

If I win the lottery

i haven't yet won the state lottery but i purchased a lottery ticket last night.

if i win the lottery, it's $150 million.. if i win, my name is publicly announced and of course my picture gets into the news.

i will probably get df'ed.. however, will the wtbts accept a hefty "donation' from my 'lucky' winnings?

I say set up a 501 (c)3 charity, park about a little of the "ill-gotten gains" in some good growth mutual funds inside it, then use the proceeds from the investments to buy digital billboard advertising in all the right places, advertising apostate web sites near conventions. Hell, buy a couple of signs inside arenas that the JWs rent for their stupid conventions. The Witlesses can't cover them because the contract with the facility says it is there year round during all events... including JW conventions.....

imagine a logo similar to JW dot org but says JWFACTS... . in strategic places around the rim. Trust me, when I was still in, I was so bored that I read every single advertising sign in every arena I ever attended a convention.
