i am sure most of you are now aware of the missing british girl madeleine mccann, who was abducted from portugal a few weeks ago.

the media is making a massive thing about this, and i am just wondering why.

they say 70,000 kids go missing each year in the uk alone - but this case seems to be unique in that it is so widely reported.

and how do you feel about the "patriot act" and the "miltary commisions act" as far as civil liberties and the us constitution are concerned?

You do know that Bush has signed executive orders which allows the president to vaccinate people against their will, should he see fit?

Jail you for life without charges, trial or a lawyer

The sale of vitamins will be illegal

The government can take over all modes of transport

The government can mobilize the population into work brigades under supervision

Bush can declare a state of emergency which is not defined, and congress cannot review the action for 6 months

There has been in increase in this kind of stupid behavior around my area. It seems to me that we are breeding a generation of complete morons. I went to a neighbourhood meeting the other night where this issue was raised, and the local councilor kept coming out with all these silly theories, one being that we should waste a load of money in our budget in building a little play area for these fuckwits complete with new basketball nets and what not.

Why is it that, particularly in this country (UK), we reward foolishness? Perhaps it is the same where you live. I mean, what are the parents doing? Would it really be such a loss if one of these idiots were knocked down? I did a lot of silly things when I was that age and still do silly things, but what lunacy is behind the concept of running into the path of an oncoming car or train?

I sometimes wonder if the human race is beginning to go backwards. I think we should seriously consider getting repeat youth offenders and throwing them on the battle front in Iraq.

What do you think should be done about these stupid anti social kids?

how do you get over the jitters to talk in front of people??

i have a speech class and make my first one tomorrow.

i'm f'ing petrified, despite everything we've talked about in class.

I have the same nervous feelings Lonelysheep, somebody gave me a great bit of advice once - just imagine that they are all dead. Or naked. Whichever you prefer. I preferred the dead scenario. Also, I try to devote a few minutes beforehand to just looking at myself in the mirror and laughing at myself hysterically.
