There is no right and wrong
by campaign of hate inso i am a little tangled up in this train of thought, as it can go quite deep.. as a jw, albeit fully awake, we are taught that there is right and a wrong.
smoking is wrong.
going on the ministry is right.

Genesis as a Parable

A parable is a fictional story that is used to teach deep moral and spiritual truths.
The Scriptures say:
Matthew 13:34-35 (NIV):Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: “I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.”
With that being the case, wouldn’t it make sense that other Bible stories “from the creation of the world” might also be parables?
I present to you, as a simplified explanation, that the stories in Genesis chapters 1 through 10 could be parables.
In fact, it is possible that the stories in the entire book of Genesis (perhaps even Exodus) could be parables like the kind that our Lord Jesus taught.
This would harmonize perfectly with modern science and archaeology. There would be no need for elaborate, convoluted attempts to force Genesis and Exodus to fit in with modern evidence.
Myself — I prefer looking for literal interpretations first, then, if no literal interpretation makes sense, I look further into the possibility of the story being a parable.

"No Elder has the Authority to Tell You what to do with Your Health--- Except for Blood!"
by FusionTheism inwatchtower simplified edition, september 2015, "is your conscience a reliable guide:".
a branch office or the local congregation elders do not have the authority to make medical decisions for a christian, even if he asks what to do.
(galatians 6:5) however, the elders can share what jehovah says in order to help a christian make a wise decision.

A branch office or the local congregation elders do not have the authority to make medical decisions for a Christian, even if he asks what to do. (Galatians 6:5) However, the elders can share what Jehovah says in order to help a Christian make a wise decision. For example, God has commanded us to keep abstaining from blood. (Acts 15:29) This command clearly helps a Christian to understand that he cannot accept medical treatments that involve taking in whole blood or any of its four major components.
---------
First question-- Where does the Bible say anything at all about the four major components of blood?

Reasons there is no God
by Lemonp inok, lets assume that god created everything as is, with no evolution involved.
this is what jw's teach based on a singular vague verse in genesis.
made according to their types.

All that proves is that a God, if He exists, enjoys watching evolution unfold naturally, for whatever reasons. -

New Light on HOLIDAYS and BIRTHDAYS? (September 2015 Watchtower)
by FusionTheism inwatchtower-- simplified study edition, september 2015, "is your conscience a reliable guide?":.
in ancient rome, some christians had different opinions about certain foods and celebrations.
what advice did paul give them?

But there's a huge difference from just being viewed as "new" or "needing to mature" and being Disfellowshipped for choosing to participate in holiday celebrations.
In the past, as far as I know, Christmas, Birthdays, and Halloween celebrations would be Disfellowshipping or Disassociation offenses, not just "up to your own conscience" or "personal decisions."

Most Witness families I knew growing up always had holiday dinners with unbelieving family, however, they simply chose to do it a week before the holiday or a week after. -

Or any modern celebrations. It's an example. I don't want to list off every country. -

Well then, that would be a great question to ask JW's then.
Show them that paragraph and ask WHY Paul's words only apply to Roman celebrations and not American celebrations.
