Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that a lot of Kingdom Melodies sound exactly like Christmas songs?
Herold Forth the Good News of the Kingdom -- It came upon a midnight clear
I can't think of any others now that Christmas is over but everytime I go into a store during the holiday season I can name them right off.

I love the letter. My husband and I left our DA letters almost 2 years ago. We both felt it was something WE had to do. It was our way of letting them know they did not control our lives any longer. It was a liberating experience just writing it and then putting it in the hands of the very people that committed the abuses against us was an amazing experience. My husband did make sure to put in his letter that they were not to contact any of us, including our children, in any way or we would consider it harassment and if they came onto our property we would consider it trespassing and treat them as such under our legal rights. Tennessee allows the use of force to remove trespassers. LOL We are fairly sure that our house is marked on the back of the territory to not call here, since we had seen several marked that way in our time served. We received no phone calls from them and the only sign of them at our door was an invitation to the memorial last year. We asked all our neighbors about the tracts, they all got one on their door but no one actually talked to any of them. We know for a fact that some were home so we think the dubs did not even look at the territory card or knock on any doors. Probably a pioneer working alone pretending to do real service.
Good luck to you, keep us updated.

I believe my brother in law committed indirect suicide 9 years ago. He was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia, went into remission a couple of times but in the end chose to not continue treatment. He was 24, in an unhappy marriage, and had a 3 year old daughter. In his teenage years he had written a suicide note and planned out how he was going to run his car off a cliff. I feel that because of his depressive nature, unhappy childhood as a witness, very low self esteem, unhappy marriage, and probably unremembered sexual abuse (my husband remembered being abused by an elder babysitter about 6 years after his brother's death) he felt that dying was easier than living. Of course, the congregation viewed him as a martyr because of having rejected a blood transfusion etc. Now his an my husband's mother is doing the same thing. She possibly has kidney cancer but refuses to even have a biopsy to be sure. She refuses to accept the conventional medical treatment instead self medicating with alternatives. She has always made statements that she didn't feel good enough to make it through Armageddon in to paradise, so I think this is her sure fire way of making sure she dies as a martyr so she is sure to get resurrected.
One of his best freinds as a teenager hung himself in his garage while his wife was out in service a few years back.
If anyone knew Matthew Vincent Jones or the McConegy's from the Ennis or Waxahachie area, I'd love to hear from you.

Reading Steve Hassan's Book. WOW!
by White Dove inhassan's book is helping me so much in letting go and not being affraid of being found out by the jw's here in "greenland.
" .
what amazing information about how the jw's compare to other high control groups and cults.. he hasn't even mentioned the jw's, so far.. it is helping me so much in gaining my confidence and not worrying about what jw's preach about the end of the world, and such.. i love this book!.

I read it too, in fact used it for my disassociation letter. I listed every aspect of a cult that Hassan mentions in his book and put next to it how the Witnesses have used such a tactic. They meet every one in some way.
