Hi Gregor, I'm pouring one for you too. I used to love tequila and mezcal. The tequila has beaten me up from time to time resulting in something of a love/ hate relationship. Try Patron, Cazador, and El Tesoro.
Cheers,

hello chumz on the board.
nothing really to do with jwism but who prefers the american 'bourbon' type such as 'wild turkey', 'jim beam' etc or who prefers a fine single malt scotch such as 'glenfiddich' or 'glenmorangie'?
i am not trying to stir up nationalism with this question but am just genuinely curious.. lfcv.

Sorry,
I had to step out with the fam.
Borgia, here's a dram of Bowmore 17 Years Old. Oh, and one for Rasillon as well. This should be to his liking. Better yet, drams all around. Brother A, Daniel-P, lfcviking, and everybody.
Lfcviking,
You inquired about cost of single malt in the U.S. In my area I pay from 40.00$ to 90.00$ U.S. for a bottle.
Cheers to one and all!

lfcviking,
I think the Doublewood is finished in Sherry casks. Nice touch.
Borgia,
Go Bowmore!
One more special one - Bruichladdich XVII. One whisky bible of note describes it thusly," soft and rough lovemaking to the palate."Jim Murray's Whisky Bible (3rd Year)

Another explanation is that Elhanan's kill was only credited to David to enhance his royal reputation. The "brother" was added in later by copyists to "fix" the contradiction with the prior folk hero account in 1 Samuel.
Thanks to all. The above- mentioned explanation is the one I found most attested to in my research. Thanks Sue.
You'll have to forgive me but I find David to be a manipulative, conniving scoundrel. He was a bad dude. It's amazing how often the org. refers to him a some shining example.

Thanks kaput,
I was aware of the comments from Insight. I find them to be lacking in weight.

Note the description of Goliath. It's the same as the other.

For bourbon fans, Woodford Reserve is super smooth.
I may be a wuss but I also have problems tolerating Jack Daniels.
Bottoms up,

IMHO single malt scotch is where it's at. It obtains distinctive characteristics according to its region of origin. Some more grassy, some salty, some smoky, some slighty sweet, etc. They're all good in their own way. Some of my personal favorites:
Glenmorangie
Dalmore
Dalwhinnie
Glenfarclas
Bowmore
Macallan
Glendronach
Balvenie
Enjoy in moderation, at room temperature, with just a splash of fresh water. Cheers!
