OK nvrgnbk. What ya said makes sense but where did you get that information? You are telling me it's this way but I'm asking where and I guess what are the flub ups? What's the proof behind what you say? I was raised to examine what I knew to be truth just like the boreans. Don't accept it as truth because someone says so.
Which part do you need proof for?
You say those things to me like I should just accept it.
Never would I want that.
Make sure of all things I think that is what I am asking you.
Then we want the same thing.

Slowly but surely...
by nvrgnbk inword is spreading.. the elder that works with me told me that a ministerial servant in his congo asked him about the un scandal.. he confirmed to the brother that the watchtower was involved with the un but later disassociated itself and warned him that not all elders would handle his question so discreetly.. i doubt we'll see the cult disappear, but it's encouraging to see that many are waking up and are at least asking some difficult questions..

but what is the real big deal?
Here's the problem, oompa...
in years past, they criticized other religious organizations, in particular the Catholics, for doing exactly what they did- simply registering with the UN as NGO's to promote their respective interests.

Where was God in the Middle ages?
by freedomfighter inwhat happened between the christian times and when the bible students started?.

When people were getting burnt at the stake for owning a Bible, where was God's loving hand?
And in recent times. When a 9yr old girl went to the toilet and her brother was waiting outside for her... She was raped and had her throat cut.
Where was God then?
Just who the hell do you think you are to be asking such blasphemous questions, ff?!?!
God is the potter.
We are the clay.
He can do or not do whatever He damn well pleases!
Sheesh!
Irreverent fool!
How was my impression of a Christian apologist?

A Christian who thinks his religious beliefs make him better than anyone else, has missed the point, in my opinion. I wouldn't claim to be better than those ones, though. ;)
LOL
Nice save, zico.
They do baptise in the name of Jehovah Jesus and the Holy spirit,
I agree, fresia.
That's what I said.
it is not as YOU say, please read what the baptism requirments as posted from th org book.
But you just agreed with me.

I wish it would become common knowledge among the jws, but I fear it would not help much.
Even my friend, upon learning of the UN association, decided that even if it did happen, it must have been for some reason to benefit the bros. I think some people will rationalize that, for whatever reason it was necessary, the motive of the WTS was altruistic.
There will always be die-hards.
True.
After his initial two seconds of shock, my father quickly defended it as a way to promote kingdom interests.

There's 2 sides to every story as far as I'm concerned.
There are often far more than just two sides to any given story.

If the Governing Body reexamines the scriptures and have a new understanding is that a flub up?
You've asked some great questions, mf.
Here are a few more to ponder...
If the GB is a sincere group of men trying to do their best to understand ancient sacred scripture, what role does the holy spirit play in directing them?
How exactly does it direct or guide them?
If they are all anointed and spirit-appointed, why is a 2/3 majority all that is required for them to make/change policies?
Can't Jehovah's active force, the same energy used in the creation of the universe, move the hearts and minds of these men to the point that all their conclusions/opinions/decisions about matters affecting God's people are unanimous within the body?
