It's nothing against the people who justhappen to be in her area of concentration at the moment.
So it's "sorry about your luck" and that's it?
for believers:.
does an omniscient god's permission of the loss of human life due to natural disasters imply some sort of negligence?.
if god possesses the power to prevent suffering, but chooses not to, what reasonable explanation can be offered?

this rare letter gives us a good insight into the 'religious' views of einstein, oft quoted by mainstream religionists in the hope that they could glean from him some allusion to his belief in a conventional 'god'.. why his views on god or even the rear end of marilyn monroe would be of much interest has always eluded me, but it is just as well that we all know that einstein did not believe in any god, at least not in the conventional sense, so that defenders of the bible and a god free of sociopathy are not tempted to haul his einsteined majesty before the court of debate again.. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/articlenews/story/ctvnews/20080513/einstein_letter_080513/20080513?hub=scitech.

Sounds like he was a spiritual atheist.
many theists believe that atheists have no morality at all.
they argue that because atheists dont believe in the laws, limitations and boundaries that god has set up for us, there's nothing stopping them from becoming violent, lying thieving sociopaths.
there have been many stories of people who have "found god" and changed their life, giving up drugs, repenting for past crimes.
So nvr what morals do you abid by that work on the pain/pleasure principle?
I'm no moral authority and never claimed to be.
I'm trying to do the best I can, one day at a time.

nvr - are you sitting in judgment of God?
Not at all.
Just asking sincere questions.
Are you sitting in judgment of me, Unconfused?
You've been taking not-so-subtle jabs at me for a few days.

Thanks, Undecided.
So one Biblical explanation is that God actually claims responsibility for them, as a form of castigation.
Any other explanations for why an all powerful being would permit thousands of unsuspecting humans to be violently extinguished?

The believer isn't obligated to follow any specific system of morality either.
Then where does the self-declared moral superiority of the believer come from?

Looks like you agree that atheists have no morals?
No.
The amorality of the atheist indicates that he or she isn't obligated to follow any specific system of morality, in contrast with the believer that often consults a written religious code to make decisions.

behavior/ethics is based on the pain/pleasure principle
Atheism is not a worldview. It doesn't carry any obligation to any kind of political or moral system. In that sense, it is amoral. Note that it is amoral, not immoral. Immorality is flouting the conventions of one's own morality; amorality is being without morality.

i wonder if the cyclone counts.... .
[inkling].
It may be that you loose your job
What does it mean if I "loose" my job?
As long as I don't lose it, it's alright.
