I'm not mad... I really don't care what anyone thinks of me on this board anymore.
Sorry that you have dyslexia, my one uncle does too.
i recently wrote an article about mormonism for a local rag that got rejected, it was concerning mitt romney, and his belief in the mormon faith.
i wrote it because many people were saying that we have no right to question another's faith in our local newspaper... i said that we in fact do have that right whenever that person is running for president..... my article stated in so many words, that mormonism has been totally refuted both by the scientific community (dna, no ties with istreal and the natives here in the states) and by many of smith's previous actions in his early life... he used seeing stones once before and was arrested for fraud... i said that romney was showing by his religious beliefs that he was illogical, and someone like that shouldn't be president... what got the story booted was when i started in on christianity.. now, don't get me wrong here, i love some of christ's teachings, but if someone is a fundlementalist, then they shouldn't be president either in my mind... .
so, where do you guys draw the line in your personal lives, when do you feel its appropiate to question someone elses religion?.

sorry for the red, remember the commercial "i'm stuck on bandaids and bandaids stuck on me.
" well ha ha i'm stuck on red and red is stuck on me.. order and neatness are often equated with purity and righteousness.
how many of us have not heard the expression cleanliness is next to godliness the saying goes.
Einstein had ADHD same as me

I have a nice internal conflict in this regard...
I have OCD and compulsively must have everything in order and categorised and neat and no clutter, etc etc. At the same time I'm right brained and have ADHD (that statement is almost redundant), which leads me to these cycles of organised chaos to compulsive organisation and back again.
Also, Hitler was a vegetarian...
And he had a meth problem...
...dawg, what the hell are you getting at?

I know the opinion you hold of me, and yet you don't even spell my name correctly, shows how much time you took to "give a crap"

Only inasmuch as it challenges the right to our rights. Unfortunately religions like to tell people their rights, which often differs from the common sense rights of every human being.
just a simple question.. within the jws, if a woman needs to pray for the group because no baptized man is present, she has to cover her head as a mark of respect/submission (take your pick).
it applies even if the male is a young child.
my question is, does the rule still apply if there's a male baby present?
My mom once I became unbaptised Pub had to do that when we studied at home too, stupid and helped me see it.
i am spending the week at my sons house in seattle to help him while recovering from knee surgery.
i answered the doorbell and it was a young woman by herself.
she read a scripture from james (can't remember) and offered me the a&w.
If they came to my door anytime from now onward I think I would just explain to them that I was not interested because I have 20 years experience considering what they have to say. Leave it at that. I have no desire to argue or even tell them how I think.
i have met quite a few folks from the forum, and between topics and posts about meeting so and so, and what is this person like, and the scandals, i felt kind of compelled to do a little mind dump on a topic about it and my experiences, and i hope no one thinks i didn't notice or remember them, these are just the most recent and those i am a bit closer to for one reason or another.
the last thing i would want to do is talk about someone when i don't know if they would mind or not...sorry if it happens here.. first, i had a person i respect a lot tell me she thought i was much more together in real life and was really suprised when she met me...that makes me wonder what kind of wreck i read like on here.
then it dawned on me, most of us post here as a release of things that aren't so great.
This was nice to read. Thank you.
I much prefer talking to these interesting people in real life, each of them infinitely more interesting that way. I don't think I've made a single enemy out of any of them. We just understand each other in one hyperimportant aspect and we branch out from there.
hello friends !
my wife, mrs. flipper and i were talking about getting an apostafest together for july 4th , 2008 weekend this summer.
this year the 4th falls on a friday, so it would at least be a 3 day holiday weekend when some may be able to get away !
Sounds good to me.
I'm skeptical that my savings will not be spend by then on one loaf of bread, but yeah, we'll see.
