  hi.. i have been a witness since birth (will be 30 years in june 2009).

  got baptised when i was 15 (pressured into it by my parents, plus, i was promised my first home pc if i did get baptised before turning 16).. both my parents serve in the uk bethel.

  i have an older brother and younger sister, both of which are witnesses.. i am married to a witness and live in cyprus (i am english).

  Yea you can't just say "no I don't want to pay taxes" or "no I don't want to be part of your government" But you can decide to not get a loan that's why I stay away from that.

  Numqam venalis. I have this tattooed on my wrists. It's Latin for never a slave. I have no dept. I am going to buy some land to grow my own food then I am really going to be free from the system. Now I just go along because it is convenient but no bank owns me. Most of my friends keep asking me why I won't by a house. "You can afford it" they say. Yea right.

  since i'm still suffering in this crackerjacks organization, these are some of statements that just drive me nuts.

  1. in service: "we are not here to convert you" funny how jws have the true religion but resort to deception and outright lies in order to get people to listen

  2. to other jws: "we won't have to deal with this in the new system" 7 billion evil doers dead and gone, no longer create problems for us

  "Do you still believe in the truth?" I get ask this and it drives me crazy. Now I just answer "do you realise what you just said? Just because you believe something does not make it true" Most of the time a get a daze and confused look.

  Okay...what the hell is wrong with the British people??? why are the citizen allowing this? ALL OF YOU SHOULD BE IN THE STREETS PROTESTING AND BURNING SHIT UP. If this would happen hear I would be the first in the streets. I don't get it why is this tolerated?

  Interesting... if you don't mind I would like to suggest something. From my personal experience I find it is futile to debate dogma. When you start reading the bible I suggest you bring up a few verses that are very troubling, if you want some good ones just look at http://www.infidels.org/ and type in biblical atrocities or contradictions in the search box. One of my first topic here was about the bible. I have a lot of topics about the bible and it's origins which is a good thing to bring up to your sister. Just click on my user name and then click on topics started. I find that with a book like the bible it being so vague you can come up with all kinds of beliefs so it is better to debate it's authenticity.

  Baptism annulment. ???

  a friend of mine is looking to get a baptism annulment.

  this person da a few years ago and certain family member suggested a baptism annulment so that they can have a "normal" relationship.

  how does this work?
