  the most radical teaching attributed to jesus has implications if followed.. an invading hoarde of mongols would not be resisted.. a christian husband would not only allow his wife and daughters to be raped; he would be compelled to forgive the rapist, pray for him and offer.

  i've been gone for a while but i kind of miss you guys and gals so i decided to see what was up.

  for me i found out a few days ago that in my old congregation the gossip about me ( i was first shocked that there was any gossip about me) is that i have started my own cult and i have a few followers (ex jdubs) wow!

  i fell on my ass!

  The gossip is not only sanctioned, it is encouraged and spurred on by "local needs" parts regarding how to treat "those who forsake the meetings and rebel against the elders." Local needs parts to encourage shunning and fear and hatred are all they can do if you haven't been caught committing a DFing offense.

  I see your point. But this one in my opinion is a little over the top.. cult leader? I'm still racking my brain to see how they came up with that one. I know that I did talk to a lot of Dfed people and my dad is the only one (active) I expressed some of my thoughts to but he is in Florida and I'm In Quebec (Canada) I know he did talk to some of his friends in my old cong. Maybe it was the long hair the the big beard that did it, LOL!

  Hi. I've been gone for a while but I kind of miss you guys and gals so I decided to see what was up.

  For me I found out a few days ago that in my old congregation the gossip about me ( I was first shocked that there was any gossip about me) is that I have started my own cult and I have a few followers (ex jdubs) Wow! I fell on my ass! I was like WTF! So why am I not Dfd? I was told the minute I set foot in the hall I will be. Nice! I guess all they got on me is gossip so they are probably waiting for me to cause trouble in the cong. before they do any thing. Crazy stuff hey?

  ...about why i do not want to come back (get reinstated), but i find myself defending my decision!.

  i say this because an old friend of mine sent me a text late last night, asking me if i'm 'back so we can talk'?!

  let me give you a lil background story, this girl is developmentally challenged, 36yrs old, can't hold down a job, drive, nor live alone.

  I know what your saying, as I once heard I am tired of "lying" to make other people happy. The best way that I found for dealing with this kind of feeling is by realizing that I am not responsible for the feelings of others, everyone is responsible for their own feelings. The Jdub are the ones who set the rules this way not you, so they are the ones responsible and others are responsible for accepting the rules or not.

  was there one incident or epiphany that struck you hard?

  or was it a slow...gradual awakening (no pun)?.

  my coming out of the jw coma (as i like to call it) began at a family rendezvous in the beautiful florida gulf coast.

  I love reading all your experiences. I can not pin point an "exact" moment because I was born in and many times things would bother me, little red flags went up. although once at a meeting I was sitting at the back (as usual) and I looked at everybody and said to myself what if this is all a lie....the strangest feeling came aver me, a mix of euphoria and fear but that was not yet the moment I totally stopped believing it took a few things and finally the last drop was when I wanted to see what the WT had to say about medical marijuana and discovered that the information they had was all BS, it was the first time that I did a research on subject that all the information I had was not from the WT and that I looked at the WT informations after. Evolution, science, history all of these subjects where first taught to me by the WT and then later I would learn at school or other sources but the mind control would kick in to prevent me from accepting something that was contrary to the WT teachings. After that...well now I'm free.
