Posters do you know of any cases where a devout JW was DF'd for Lesbianism?

i think this is a hush hush topic among jws but i remember years ago at an assembly i saw two sisters(i am only assuming they were jws they could have been studies or relatives of jws) walking arm and arm like a married couple.

some of the jws looked at them like they had horns.

some of the jws moms were covering their small children's eyes and those two women were stared at like they had the plague.

I take the name ShirleyW just for the hypocrisy that's in the Borg. When I was about 9 or 10 two Pioneer sisters who were roomates moved up from FLorida to our congregation, cut to the chase, I'm a few years away from sixty and they're still roomates. Yes, I know somewhere on this planet there are male and female roomates that have been together for decades and are not an item, with these two if you saw them, you would get certain idea about them.

There have been many of brothers and sisters who wondered aloud with the others about their status, but somehow they are still faithful servants of Jah.

What I noticed was how one huge portion of the stadium must've been roped off because they don't have as many followers as they used to. I've never seen an assembly at a stadium that wasn't full, but then I haven't been to an assembly since early 1980's.

Spanking VS. Reasoning

i am having a discussion at work with the jw's.

should you spank a child to make them understand or do you reason with them.

they both agree with spanking.

Cofty and a few others agree that hitting a child is never acceptable.

Myself and a few others believe that is talking doesn't help a spanking just might be in order.

In other words, we all have our own opinions and can argue with each other until daybreak but we will still hold strong certain beliefs that we have.

No you can't smack an adult with learning difficulties, it is of my belief that it's so obvious why you cannot, once again, I think the answer is quite obvious, not everyone, I think it's obvious. But then there is that scripture that says "spare the rod spoil the child" I don't agree with many old, steadfast rules but I do agree with one. Someone on the editorial page of a local newspaper this week said that if that rule were practiced more often perhaps the jails wouldn't be so overcrowded. I think there just might be a small piece of truth to that statement.

it is amazing to look back at three years and see the journey that we have taken.

i went from being an elder to fading completely in the course of those three years.

along the way i am happy to say that my lovely wife woke up and realized that the truth is nothing but a lie.

Giordano - Funny you just mentioned volunteering, after years of thinking and thinking about it I finally contacted and met with the Volunteer Coordinator at a local hospital here and submitted my paperwork and I'm just waiting to hear from them. I can hardly wait to start !!

Even if I don't get accepted at the hospital, my attorney is on the Board of Directors at a facility for Seniors and told me to consider applying there and he would recommend me, always much better to do something productive.

I get so tired of people always bringing up "Black on Black" crime.

i am responding to a post by someone the other day about a black girl beaten by a mob of other black teens for "acting too white.

" the poster was trying to drive home the idea black people commit more crimes against themselves then white people do to them.

while it is true some black people do insult other black people who they believe are trying to fit in with caucasian people, white people, hispanics, asians, and other races do the same exact thing to people in their ethnic group as well.

Hmmm, this thread started out saying how tiring it is to read about "black on black" crime as well as other races as well, with people agreeing that they are tired of it too, now it seems like this thread is turning into the others about "black vs. white".

What I find interesting is that although the majority of folks here are no longer or JWs, I guess although the Borg preaches there is no division in race and we are all one and love Jah, I guess some folks never felt that while they were in and did the "make believe" thing about, like so many Dubs do for some of the things in the Borg, but deep down, if you came in to the Cult feeling a certain way about a certain race, those feelings didn't change while they were Jehovah's happy people spreading the word of his Kingdom.

Observations from a day at the zoo

so we went to calgary zoo today and i'm torn between zoo's being great for conservation vs using animals to make money.

i think on the whole they are a good thing but it's sad to see some of the animals caged up - somehow i always end up staring into the eyes of a gorilla and it makes me sad.. but that isn't what struck me ... it's these things:.

I agree with these grown kids in strollers, I see it everyday. The kid looks like they're 7 or 8 years old in a stroller, makes you think what the heck happened to parenting skills. . . .and don't get me started on the stroller for twins, or the double wide as I call it. They used to make the twin stroller where one was behind the other, why do they now have to be side by side?
