Oh, so now you're spiritually weak again if you pursue college, I'm in my 50's and that was the thing, no college, the kids who were ten and more years younger than me in the Cong ALL went to college, now it's not Okay anymore, well there you have it, Jah's holy spirit flip flopping once again

I am looking at back surgery any thoughts on should I or not?
by Still Totally ADD inback in march i fell and injured my back at work.
my back has been a problem for many years but certain exercise has able me to function normally through the years.
now i walk bent over with a cane and cannot walk very far, stand, or sit in a straight back chair.

Me personally I wouldn't let no knife near my back
No problem Chook, my aunt had "back"surgery a few months ago but they went in from the front!
The surgery itself was successful (so far) but they put some kind of pain medicine in there so when they sewed her up and sent her home she thought she was doing fine, until that wore off, even the meds they sent her home with didn't help, she had to go back to hospital for a few days and what they first gave her pain didn't work either. They finally found something to give her and that did the trick. Btw, she's no stranger by far to surgery, so she was no crybaby concerning the pain, she's had sooooo many surgeries from head to toe can't even remember all of them, she's had five on just one leg for an infection that wouldn't go away, and those five don't include two knee replacements, so she knows the drill when it comes to surgery, but that's the first time she had to go back because of so much pain.

About five or so years ago someone started posting here and mentioned the area she grew up in, turns out my mother studied with her husband and his family when he and I were Junior High School age, after she turned that study over to a brother because his father got interested, my mother started a study with his aunt and grandmother

A relaxing day at the park, plus getting in your hours, if it was that easy when my mother was pioneering but had to stop because of her arthritis she could've still gotten in her hours. What a bunch of frauds !!

we have a laid off bethelite with an engineering degree!
by nowwhat? inthis guy have been at bethel for 25 years when he could have been making 75-100 thousand a year as an engineer.
so they kick him to the curb so they don't have to house him and his wife anymore.
they run into a problem at warwick and they ask him to come back for 3 weeks.

So, with all the layoffs at Bethel, does that mean they're not accepting any new recruits? Bethel is no longer a goal for the young ones in the Congregations now?

Are JWs "mind trained" to be habitual liars?
by nonjwspouse ini don't mean overly obvious, or otherwise meaning to cause harm, but taught to lie for the purpose of avoidance.
this type of lying can be pervasive in areas of life that are not just to avoid discussions with people who have questions about the jw, etc.
my husband will lie/be deceitful about the silliest, simple things.

What does it take to qualify for cart/trolley work?
by Londo111 inif memory serves me, when it was first introduced elders had to fill out a form to grade a jw, and only those who made the grade could do the carts.. i didn’t realize until sir82 said something on another discussion that the process had changed.. what is the process nowadays?

Wait a minute, is the same thing required for just knocking on doors or doing street work? I was a born in so since childhood I was always taken out in FS, but for a person studying for a while does the same apply, or you have to be an extra special kind of "uber witness smug" to sit in front of a cart and verbally tear apart the others in the Cong as the people on the street just walk by and don't pay any attention at all?

The coordinator of cong visited me last night
by Chook inhe ran into me a work and asked could he come , i said only if you're by yourself and don't wear company garb.
3 hours later and i might as well talked to myself.
i used every illustration and persuasive argument.

Coordinator? Some more new light obviously, I have no idea what a Cong Coordinator is, is that the lowest rung on the ladder for elders or something? Btw, haven't been to a meeting since the mid 80's
