  My Boyfriend is a recent Ex Jehovah Witness

  i have been dating my boyfriend for almost a year now.

  when i met him i had no idea that he was a jehovah witness.

  we took a vacation and he lied to his parents about who he was with, and they ended up finding out not only that he way lying, but who i was.

  Well, since you call him your soul mate, sounds like you two or in your late teens or early 20's.

  Just make sure he wants to make a clean break but from the cult, he might be feeling a bit conflicted although he did move away from his parents and his friends have stopped talking to him. Lots of young folks leave, sometimes mentally it happens quickly or there may be something in their mind that might still be bugging him a bit about walking away from the cult

  Why do you think you're the one that made him lose his relationship with family and friends? He's the one that chose to walk away from the JWs,

  The Witneses reckon that they are the only ones going door-to-door!

  i just had a visit from two guys who are engaged in a door-to-door campaign in the area, preaching "the gospel", and offering, to quote "the best news you are ever going to hear".

  this was at 3:30 pm local time, an hour at by which all jws would have long called it a day.

  while these two didn't identify themselves with any particular church group, it was quite obvious that they were neither jws or lds.

  I remember way back in either the 70's or 80's a Seventh Day Adventist came knocking at the door, lo and behold, my mother actually stood their and listened and took her little pamphlet. Of course after she closed the door she then says, "well, I started to say something to her, but I just listened" and the pamphlet went in the trash. I think she was just gobsmacked to get back in her face what she's been doing since 1958.

  we all know the rate of suicide is high among jw's.

  my question is this- was there some subliminal messages that encourage this.

  i was a born in and my entire life i would have these thoughts that could come out of nowhere,"kill yourself.

  My mums dying she refuses blood transfusion...the horror.

  mum has a mild form of lukeimia if she took blood like normal people she could live to be 100. but no, anointed sisters dont compromise jehovah wont allow it.

  so here i am moving to sydney for one month going to hospital everyday putting my life on hold to watch my mother die slowly.

  watching her gasp for air, struggle to breath.

  Sorry to hear what you're going through, I was appointed my mother's guardian by the Court, so I opted to give her blood, and of course some nosy sisters visited her the day she was hooked up to it. They told an Elder, the Elder called me, I went off on a curse filled rant to him about how dare he tell me what to do according to what was best for her and also left him another rant when I knew he would be attending the meeting. Must've had a lasting impression on him because when he attended her memorial service he and his wife were most friendly to me, even got in line twice when the folks attending speak with the family! . . .I think I made my point clear to him . . .

  The REAL Reason I Stopped Going to Meetings

  to sum it up in all one word...pride.. i've always kind of attributed my subconscious "fade" to shame for living a double life by dating my non-jw boyfriend (now husband) while serving as a pioneer in the foreign language field.

  but i was actually pretty regular for awhile.. my pioneer hours did start to dwindle, however.

  i had always struggled with the hourly requirement, but i was really struggling now.

  I don't know how long you stopped going, but I would think they would be calling you again to ask about your attendance, or have you done what I think all Dubs should do when they get the call and that is just ignore them, don't return the call, and if if they start harassing you or your husband should tell them in a very loud voice, expletives included, to mind there f****ing business, that you're capable of living your life the way that you want.

  Special Bethelite Speakers

  i've noticed that some elders will insist on getting a special bethel speaker for memorials, special talks, or sometimes for no reason at all!

  i believe they are trying build connections they can use later, but who pays for it?

  the congregation does and as a former account servant i can tell you airfare isn't all that cheap.

  James Jack, I know Rudy and his wife, they were good friends with my parents, my mom had them over for dinner several times! I was wondering if his wife was still alive because she had some kind of condition that she had to use a wheelchair sometimes and it's been more than ten years since I've seen them. Are they still at Bethel? GUess they didn't get kicked to the curb, yet.
