Even my uber dub mom had to laugh at this but, when my aunt went to a wake in a church, a women she knew who was a JW walked up, looked at the body, then ran out the church, like she didn't want Jehovah to catch her paying respects to a colleague of hers, just amazing, how so many people buy in to their made up rules. I don't really remember that being a strict rule anyway until the late 60's, another flip-flop of theirs.

Why can JW's attend funerals or weddings in a church?
by QuestioningEverything inwhat is the reasoning/policy behind the practice that a jw can't attend an event such as funeral or wedding in another church?
i know of someone that didn't attend her older sisters funeral because it was held in a baptist church.
she waited outside until the service was over and then went to the family dinner afterwards.

Did you enjoy your visit to Bethel?
by Addison0998 ini recently had to take a trip with my family to bethel.
it was a bit torturous for a secret apostate as you can imagine.
but mostly just so boring.

I have to include my visit to Bethel when I was a kid back in the mid 60's, to show you how things have changed.
After the tour and lunch we went back to this brothers room for a while, when it was time to leave, my father, who was an unbelieving mate back then was the last to walk out, so he asked before he shut the door, do you want to lock it, or use your key, whatever he said, but the brother said "we don't have to lock our doors around here"! My mother could hardly wait to get back to the KH and tell that story to everyone, like it was a good witness for my father to finally come into da troof. - smh, makes me sick just thinking about it.
Btw, this visit was in either 1967 or 1968 and my father didn't get baptized until 1977, so I don't think that one little experience had anything to do with it. And as you know, now I"m sure Bethelites lock their doors now!!

Getting Remarried after a spouses death & then they are resurrected after Armageddon ?
by LOLS inhi guys .
i was wondering about the above , if a jw is allowed to remarry if a spouse has died, then what happens when they are resurrected at armageddon, do u land up with two wives/husbands ,,,,,,, makes no sense to me & can the jw's be so dumb not to think about this or have i got it wrong ?
and i will not be asking my uber jw husband , don't have the energy.. thanks.

I don't know which flip flop rule they have now about dead spouses still being married, but a friend of my mom's lost her husband ten or more years before my dad died. I thought I remember them saying that if your spouse is resurrected they will no longer be married. So my mom and this sister were talking about this and this sister said, "but a brother in our KH said that now they will still be married", So I guess all the wives that miss their husbands find comfort in the one brother in Philadelphia, who says the resurrected will still be married.

then there was this Watchtower stating that "Another One Bites the Dust" is backwards "It is fun to smoke marijuana"
Seriously? Glad I was already out by then, how they come up with such nonsense and their followers blindly follow I"ll never understand.

Minimus = Plus I believe people who are not all that intelligent have a mindset that makes them ignorant
Good Point Min ! Just like the uneducated Drumpf supporters, which you and a good many here are a member of, as Drumpf said while he was campaigning, he loves the uneducated. You certainly have the right to support your own candidate, but you cannot refute the point that Drumpf said he loves the uneducated while he was campaigning and a good many of the uneducated Drumpf supporters are right here on this board (can hardly wait to see how many dislike votes I get votes I get for speaking the truth)! I guess if you thought it through Minimus you wouldn't have made that point, but then again, as Drumpf said . . . . .

What Are The Differences Between JWs Born In and Converted?
by minimus ini tend to think that many jws who joined the religion in their later years feel foolish or are embarrassed by their decision to become one of jehovah’s witnesses.
.
i’m not embarrassed by my years “in the truth “ because i was raised from infancy to believe everything was god’s word and who are we to question jehovah and his organization?

I believe Steve Hassan brought out it was usually the well educated who converted to a Cult than a uneducated person. But then again there are always exceptions to the rule
What about the uneducated Drumpf supporters and I'm sure you'll remember during his campaign he said he loves the uneducated, still to this day they support him in full force.

It baffles me why they would even say this
by Tameria2001 inback in 2001, i left the jws rather abruptly.
i had discovered things about the watchtower that really made me quite angry, angry because i had been lied to, and it took me just to darn long to figure it out.
before i had left, my husband and i wrote 3 letters, one to the elders at our congregation, and two to our parents.

They say that because they're fully indoctrinated, they drank the "mental koolaid" no matter how much new light and flip flops the borg puts out, they just eat it up without thought. Just like the folks who turn out for Trump's rallies, whatever he says, they just eat it up.
Like I said a few weeks ago here, if Trump and the Borg said that from now on 2+2=5, they would totally believe it.

As The Watchtower Corporation Faces One Crisis After Another, What Will The Governing Body Members Do?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini foresee great a very tumultuous road ahead for our dearly beloved governing body, or god(guardians of doctrine).
they need a much more flexible approach to these problems, instead of being narrow mindedly ridged, which seems to be almost impossible for these hyper brain washed fools for corporate jehovah.. looks like am#3 will be the most inflexible since he and corporate jehovah seems to know what each other is thinking and feeling, iow am#3 really thinks he can read jehovah mind that why we affectionately call him tight pants tony, he's probably a closet gay that gets real excited by nice looking brothers in tight pants, and perhaps a camel toe or two has caught his gaze(must keep those things hidden).
i don't see him ever jumping ship he looks like he will ride the watchtower vessel to the bottom of the ocean.. will some future events lead to a big deflection in governing body loyalties?

What will JJ Abrams and Disney do for Star Wars episode IX?
by LoveUniHateExams ini heard that jj abrams has finished the screenplay and they'll be starting to shoot the final episode soon.. so where will the story go?.
han solo is dead, snoke is dead, leia can only have a very limited role at best because carrie fisher unfortunately died .... plus, rey has already defeated the main villain once before, in her first lightsaber fight (in the force awakens, because 'ovaries!
', i guess xd).. and she saved his ass against snoke's elite guards (in the last jedi) - so it will be difficult to film any kind of dramatic tension between rey and kylo ren.. i won't be seeing this film in the cinema or buying it on dvd but i am kinda curious how things will pan out .... what do you think?.

For all the people on the planet who have never seen a Star Wars film (like myself) and don't plan to ever do so, who cares . . .
