What I'm accustomed to calling souse is, since NY has so many transplanted people from the Caribbean, which means a plethora of Caribbean restaurants which offer "pickled cow feet" which is what they call souse, pigs feet can be used also, but it is ssssoooooo good !!

Pickled pigs feet we got up here, but it doesn't look as good as did when i was child and my father used to eat it all the t ime, bet you guys get a much better of hog head cheese too !! used to love the stuff, but since a lot of the butcher shops closed up here, can't find a decent product of that either!

Hey Silvia
i always heard that down south you guys get different flavorings on Doritos and chips and things than the one they ship to us up north (I'm in NYC), so besides, bbq, sour cream and onion, salt and vinegar, is it true you guys have more to choose from in the Junk food dept than us yankees up north??
in the days before 'simplification', the days of 3 day circuit assemblies (fri evening plus sat & sun), when we used have catering departments that cooked and served up hot meals, we also used to have circuit orchestras.. i must say ours was pretty poor though, only matched by the lacklustre singing.. eyeslice.
(bee in his bonnet since mrs eyeslice went to singing practice at local kh on sunday evening).
I remember way back in the 60's they used to play "non-theocratic" songs, I remember them playing some songs from Broadway shows, and if I'm not mistaken, taking into account I was just a kid back then they played the song from My Fair Lady, "Get me to the CHURCH on Time" !!. Once again, was just a kid then and I saw the movie and a lot of songs from the show are quite popular, but I definitely know that song when I hear it.
michael's sister la toya, says, "we grew up as jehovah's witnesses and so didn't celebrate christmas.
but i think it's very important that michael's children celebrate it, because that's what he did with them.
i want them to continue to have that.
Do you all really think this will be the FIRST Christmas that the mom will partake in?
Remember when sisters were counseled with unvbelieving husbands to fix the Thanksgiving and Christmas meal for the spouse? Do you really think they ate in the kitchen gnawing on a chickin bone while everyone else was in the dining room stuffing their faces ?
I know the father was a tyrant, but I remember the Xmas album they made when they first came out, have a feeling that the studio wasn't the first time they sang those tunes ! ! !
there is a slight chance that my husband may have the opportunity to go to nyc to complete a surgical residency at beth israel medical center (on 17th st., between 1st & 2nd ave.).
he is a podiatrist who orignally completed a shorter residency back after graduation, but now credentialing has changed and it would benefit him to be able to get into a surgical residency, hopefully as a 2nd yr resident.
and he is working with several programs now in the application process.. my question is for you nyc folks is: in what kind of area is that hospital located?
Alana
Pracatically 99.9% of Manhattan rent is high, basically I would say more than 50-60% of NYC is probably more than what you're used to if you're not from a major city. Just saw an ad in the paper today for the "refurbished" Bethel factory, now they're trying to sell the co-ops that it's been converted to, that part of Brooklyn has become upscale within the last 10-15 years. Can he live in the outer boro's like Queens, Brooklyn or the Bronx, although I think Staten Island would be too much of a commute for him. Transportation here is pretty good, so that shouldn't be a problem for him
do you still have the desire to live forever on a paradise earth?.
Couldn't imagine liviing till "infinity" years old . . . the way my left knee, right toe, back, right hip, neck, shoulders are killing now . . .
Oh, I forgot, all the pain "will be no more" . . . still wouldn't want to do it.
U should've added "Puke Alert" for that phony, contrived, picture ! ! ! !
two brothers came to the door this morning wanting to know if i've changed my mind about my da.
i've been wondering what was going on - i sent my da request in march, and as far as i knew, no announcement had been made.
i've been pacing for months now, waiting, wondering, hoping beyond hope that they had a change of heart and would let me just be !!!
Check your email girl, just sent ya somethin' !
