Those who remember Wendy Williams radio show know that Charlamagne always said that he was raised as a JW, and this guy is his dad, looking at the photos of his dad in the paper today, is their "new light" saying that brothers can now where beards since Charlamane says his dad is a devout JW, maybe down south, can't remember what state he's from but maybe this certain part of the country (since Jdubs never do anything the same across the board) say it's Ok to sport a beard.

The Meetings Really Suck Lately
by Pika_Chu inwarning.....profanity ahead...wimps may want to leave this page.... perhaps it's stupid bringing this up when all you guys are up to speed with how the gb is full of shit anyway, but i just feel like complaining about it.
the borg is royally fucked up, and we need to call them out on it.. all the talks are about armageddon being close, closer than ever, etc.
you know, the usual crap...we've all heard a thousand times...puke puke.... then there's the added factor that everyone in my congo is actually convinced that they cannot miss even a single meeting.

Why can't regular pioneers get some of the money back that they use out in field service?
by Joliette incan someone please explain this to me: gas money, handing out endless amounts of publications, magazines, tracks, etc.
why can't get some of this money back, tax write off, etc?
why can't this happen?

Kinda reminds me of a friend of mine who donates so heavily to the minister T.D. Jakes that she was audited one year by the IRS, amazingly she had receipts to prove all donations, so maybe our dear theocratic piosneers know how to "play the game" when they file their taxes. . . just a thought . . .!!

JWs blur the lines.....what is the difference in brainwashing and "inculcating"?
by journey-on ini have been thinking about no room for george and his returning to the vomit kingdom hall.
(miz, do what you need to do to get mentally healthy.
i am particularly thinking about someone close to me, as well, and her severe fanatical attachment to the organization.

I was raised in it too and agree to what you above.
When I used to tell my mother she was brainwashed she would say "thank you"!
So, go figure, it's sometimes seems amazing how so many broke away, but then again it's not, they just started thinking for themselves.

R.I.P George
by fade_away inif it wasn't an extremely late (or extremely early) april fools joke, our friend no room for george seems to have departed......from this website.
apparently falling victim to a devastating love bomb that claimed his ability of thinking for himself and his freedom of heart, mind, body and soul.
i was wondering if maybe in the future he will be on the convention stage in front of a couple thousand people talking about his "experience".

If he has indeed whole heartedly returned to the DaTroof, I have a feeling he hasn't given up his experimentations of meds & booze cocktails as of yet, so perhaps the next time he's in a "jovial/theocratic" mood I suspect he'll be back.

Visiting MIL tomorrow - says she has a present for us!
by Little Imp inwe are visiting my husband's parents tomorrow but over the phone mil says she has a present for us.. the only time that she has given us a present in the eight years i have known them was one of the little books we used for the tuesday evening book study, this was presented to me all wrapped nicely in pretty paper.. i just hope that we are not in for a witnessing!.
if it is another book there is no way i am bringing it home, i don't want any more jw crap in our house.
we will just conveniently forget to pick it up.

As soon as I read your subject line I said to myself it's probably some of the publications. My mother pulled that one on my aunt, I believe my aunt was semi-accepting of something my mother pointed out to her, so when she returned home to DC my mom sent her a crapload of the literature, which my aunt promptly sent back!!
The way my mother took it was "isn't it a shame she doesn't see the divine blessing in what I sent her, blah, blah, blah, blah . . . . !!!

Name Things That Are Unique To Jehovah's Witnesses
by minimus inthey are the only religion that i know of that disapprove of a college education.
they alone believe in the significance of 1914. they exclusively believe that christ jesus is michael the archangel.....to name a few.. what can you add to the list?.
.

ShirleyW
I agree 00DAD, I believe many of the witnesses are kind and sincere too, just seriously mis-guided.
Well instead of calling them a**holes, I'll just say that how many other "sincere misguided" folks knock on your door claiming to be the only true religion, and let's not forget that pompous attitude of theirs, looking down at others since they're a**, I mean seriously misguided.

Hey Shelby
Your post reminds me of two separate incidents. A friend also needed help for a month or so, while she was speaking to the woman, she asked my friend to go to the copier and made a copy, when she came back the woman wasn't there so my nosy friend kinda looked thru the paperwork on her, desk, she already had the info on paper that my friend was asked to bring with her and make a copy of, have no idea at this time what it was, but they already have you "scoped out" now before you get there
Back in the 60's a sister moved to NYC from VA with five kids, she was an able bodied person, HOWEVER she received welfare and never worked! Needless to say today, that won't even fly My mother even had her clean the house a few times to put some extra bucks in her pocket, wonder how many more of the bros and sis houses she was cleaning !!
