Well, as far as the modern world goes, I've been told that the lightbulb is just a few years older than the JDub Organization.
So I'm guessing late 1800's, early 1900's.
this is taken from the reasoning book, page 199.. .
"according to the bible, the line of witnesses of jehovah reaches back to faithful abel.
hebrews 11:412:1 says: by faith abel offered god a sacrifice of greater worth than cain .

i believe that in every hall there are a number of weird jws.. we had some that were (and still are) 65 year old mama's boys.
they never got married, weren't gay, just weird.. we had old brother stevenson that used to yell at everyone if they didn't accept a book!.
we had our share of weird elders that were always looking into world events and saying this proves bible prophecy--when in fact, it had nothing to do with it!.
searching for crazy people within organized religion is like searching for sand on the beach.
That plus the fact that the Dubs are so structured in just about every move they make, some mentally ill folks need a schedule to follow to keep them in order, I often think of seeing them on the subway with pen in hand underlining certain points in whatever publication they're reading, wonder if they can read a normal book without getting the urge to underline !

funny how many of the dubs didn't want their names mentioned in the article.
lol.
I read that article, noticed that the "leader of the pack" so to speak wasn't a witness, so interesting that Jdubs would give up their money to an evil, worldly person. Another interesting thing is one the Jdubs who got ripped off was a Bro who was a missionary, How the heck does a missionary get enough money to make donation to such a money scheme? We always heard of missionaries who barely had enough food and, lo and behold, one morning a basket of food would appear on their doorstep!
i'm usually a cognac drinker.
i love armagnac too.
and i enjoy a martini i invented---mandarin vodka with a slight bit, usually about a capful of chambord served in an ice cold martini glass.. this saturday i'm mixing with my gf's friends and family in conn. with some affluent people and i might want to try something different.
I treat myself every now and the to a Blue label Chimay every once in awhile, I say treat because to pay from 10 - 15 dollars for one bottle of beer is a treat, I don't pay that much for a a bottle of wine!
With you all the way on that one Scully !!
there's so many good choices, i can barely pick!.
dart?.
shasta cola?.
Well, I haven't been to a DC since somewhere around 1979 - 1981, so maybe that has something to do with my not remembering Burritos !!

Burritos ? Don't recall that here on the East Coast, must've been west coast only. . . ?

just wondering if anyone had tried this site or had opinions on it.. or, y'know, hey ladies, consider this an ad .
I registered on JWMatch just for a good laugh and believe me, I haven't been disappointed !!
Some of the most pathetic brothers particularly, especially this bro from Africa who wants a wife to watch TV with and sing Kingdom songs !!
i was talking the other day with a fellow board member about medical emergencies occuring at meetings and how we both agreed that we ( while jw's ) had never seen a meeting stop or be cancelled due to medical emergencies experienced by a fellow jw.
the wt society trains jw' s to lose their authentic human feelings or any empathy towards others physical or emotional sufferings many times.
so many times at meetings , in spite of someone suffering a serious medical emergency it was " the show must go on " type of attitude displayed by congregation elders.. my first experience at seeing a medical emergency at the kingdom hall was an older sister who had an epileptic attack.
Like you Flipper I've seen two separate cases of an epileptic seizure and one of them was the Bro doing the Watchtower study, they carried him to the back, as they did with the other Bro. who was in the audience, but both meetings just went on. Can't honestly say for sure but, I do hope an ambulance was called !
next sunday is the discussion of the 7/15/2011 wt article about shunning.
i am planning to stand outside of a kh on a major street with a big banner that says that the jws do indeed destroy families with their shunning policy.
i will have many copies of the article that will be discussed that day.. anyone else have any plans?.
Sounds like the majority of votes are for not protesting, as it won't do any good . . . final decision is your however.
