morning Miz Sylvie,
Guess I've been watching too many Mayberry reruns, I thought everyone in the southern states owned there own property, passed down from his/her granddaddy and the granddaddy before that
good morning, all.. it is good to be here.. thanks to all for your contributions.. love and blessings.
sylvia.
i received a phone call, "is that (name)?".
i was working my way around a car park and answered.
"yeah hang on" at which the caller hung up.. this is a scam where they are wanting you to confirm who you are so they can move on identity theft.. the voice was male clear like a professional announcer.. i have reported this to the relevant authorities.. i have also frozen my bank account..
this is obviously a question for the older generation.
i'm really curious what it was like to be a witness in the 60's and 70's?.
was the society as strict as it is today?.
good morning, all.. it is good to be here.. thanks to all for your contributions.. love and blessings.

i was so excited about visiting bethel.
it was a dream come true.
all my life i was told that i had to visit bethel.
My mother used to tell this story ad nauseum regarding the "safety" at Bethel. When we took the tour in the late 1960's, my father who wasn't yet baptized came with us for the tour, I remember we had lunch there and toured the factory and then a brother I guess we knew invited us back to his room, as we were leaving and walking out the door my father said "should I lock the door" which the Bethel brother said "no, we don't have to lock our door around here"! Well, my mother just couldn't wait to get back to the hall and spread that story like it gave a good witness to my dad and others or something. Btw he didn't get baptized until 1978 and trust me that little door incident was not a factor, But from the stories that have been posted here about the goings on there with the booze and even mini thefts that have taken place at Bethel, I bet they have deadbolt locks on the doors now.
