that pic of above is what I grew up on as a kid, but there was no 5-minute grits in the 60's, regular grits takes about 15-20 minutes to cook, when the instant one did come out though, I will say I like it much better than the regular, the regular ones didn't have that much of a taste to me, the instant one I'm sure is loaded with salt I'm sure plus the fact it just takes a minute or two instead of 20 minutes, so not as mushy

I remember mush too ! Just yellow cornmeal meant to fill the stomach when there was not much else, now people think it's some gourmet thing, if they only knew.

I'll pray for you
by I quit! inone thing over the years social media has made me painfully aware of is how many times i see someone use the phrase "i'll pray for you" and the outcome is bad.
recently a friend of mine who at one time was my manager where i worked got cancer.
a lot of people were praying for him.

One of the main reasons I don't believe in prayer is it's just luck of the draw
I'm sure right this very minute people are praying for their relatives right next to the hospital bed, needless to say, some will make it and some won't, so what do these ultra religious folks say when the guy in the bed on the other side of the room makes but their relative doesn't and they both had folks praying for them? There's really no answer to that

JW's And Yoga
by pale.emperor inthis was partly discussed in this thread: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/4853755331739648/these-common-jw-beliefs?page=2#!#5701815683252224 but i wanted to delve into the topic of yoga even further.. it seems watchtower have no clue what yoga actually is, or what it can achieve.
i myself dont practice yoga, but i do meditate and see the benefits of that.. here is an artical from watchtower 2002 with my commentary:.

I remember around ten years ago The Williams sisters had a reality show, on one episode I remember Venus's coach or whoever had mentioned to her about doing some yoga and Venus kept saying "my religion doesn't believe in it" or "I can't do it because of my religion!", she said it quite a few times as the woman was trying to convince her it would be good for her. Amazing how they stand up for Jah's principles and probably haven't stepped foot in a KH in decades.

HA the good life --Cart witnessing
by wannaexit inon my way home from work today, i saw the modern day pioneers having a grand old time, relaxing in the sun.
two sprawled on one bench and the other two talking up a storm, with their iced cappuccino, just enjoying the day.
the two carts were a number of feet away.

you should see them in the subway system, they're sitting down at least 4 or 5 feet if not more away from the cart, just gabbing away tearing up the other sisters in the Hall I'll bet, some stations they set up a table instead of a cart which allows five or six Dubs to get their time in standing around it, while they run their mouths as the people just pass by paying no attention whatsoever, what a racket, yet they think they're so blessed to be able to get so many hours in monthly . .SMH

I don't hang around with Dubs anymore so I'm not in the loop about the latest bright colored cartoon character walking down the aisle at the Hall cursing all the way, or whatever new thing some elder made up to keep the folks in line.
