i have a post from another forum that i am very interested in, but, i would love to hear a few of your views on the subject.. i am now going to dig into my bible to have a look to see what he is talking about, but i know that the view of jehovah's witnesses is about as close to the best intereptation of the bible there is...this is the post..... "-the eastern or golden gate, which was sealed for almost a 1200 years is a key part to bible prophecy.

ezekiel recorded the prophecy about the closing of this gate.

I work in the computer dept for the local County Govt and my job classification was recently reclassified as a union position. The best part of the reclassification was that 'we' voted for it. There was a nice union vote to see if 'we' wanted to become part of the union. The funny thing was that no-one knew about the vote. Only 10% of those affected voted and of that 10% only 51% voted for the Union! What a sham! How might you ask did the rest of us find out about this 'vote'? Well, we got a nice letter saying that they were going to start taking our Union fees out of our checks (Automaticly of course!). Amazing how we cant get a letter about the Vote but sure as shit we can get a notice about how they are taking our money. The Board of Supervisors wont touch it because its an 'employee' issue. So its one big cluster.

Now dont get me wrong, like I said before I dont dislike ALL Unions. I just think the majority of Unions are a barrier that prevent businesses from running properlly. Job Classifications lead to "Thats not my job", "I cant do that", "You need to talk to so and so", basicly- let me pass the buck. Rotton, worthless people cannot get fired (they just get promoted or transfered). You ever wonder why the Govt is so slow?? Its the Union crap! Same thing with the State. It is extremely hard to get fired from the Govt. We had a guy clogging up the entire network because he was printing out Porn on the Color Printer. Did they fire him? Nope. Just took away his internet for a bit.

I did my best to start a Union at Napa Autoparts when I worked there at a distribution center because the Management was F-in everybody over. The working conditions were unsafe and I called OSHA on them. They did many, many questionable things. Scare tactics were common. "If you form a Union we will shut this place down and you will all lose your jobs!" A total bunch of BS. But thats another story.

But in General: Unions are a waste. They increase the cost of labor. They reduce production. They make it harder for businesses to compete with non-union competitors. They create another layer of BS between management and workers. They make it hard to get rid of problem employees while at the same time preventing the rewarding of good employees. And lets not forget their history of corruption.

Ahhh why am I still in my Union job. Well basicly, im just waiting to get deployed. Why leave for another job when im going to be gone in a couple weeks? As far as education, im working on my MBA.
