the parallels between raymond franz and galileo galilei are remarkable and we can learn from them and their religious masters.. in the case of galileo and the catholic church, the issue was not what the church wanted people to believe it was: "who owns the truth about the heavens?".
in the case of raymond franz and the watchtower printing corporation, the issue was not what the corporation wanted people to believe it was: "who owns the truth about shunning", and "who owns the truth about what the bible really teaches?".

Don't post too often but need some support
by ~Jen~ inthis is my 2nd christmas after leaving the jw's.
last year there was drama surrounding the time and i never really focused on it.
this year is differant and i'm having a hard time with it.

What you're feeling is absolutely normal for what you've been and are going through. You WILL get through this without a doubt.
There is NOTHING wrong with you first and foremost. Please believe that. What mouthy and journey-on said is good advise.
Concentrate on you and your kids. Stay busy. Take up a hooby. Something you've always wanted to do maybe.
Get out there and mingle. Meet new friends. It's a real big world out there. Help others like you that might also be going through the same ordeal you are.
You will be a better and stronger person, you'll see.
Keep your chin up girl. You're gonna make it.

Why is what he has to say about his life experience any less vaild than yours?
I enjoyed him being honest and not afraid of showing it.
Question new light. What exactly does this mean: "So many intelligent people cheat themselves of their full potential by throwing away their connection with "the force" just because they have transcended religion and superstition."
Also:" I will tell you that "God" has revealed itself in my life in ways I can not logically deny.
You see that's the problem NL. While I respect that YOU'VE been revealed to, whatever that means, many people haven't. Why? And while you can't logically deny it,many people do and would.
This in particular is very telling and at the same time baffling: "Who really cares what some sparkless depressive like RG has to say on matters of spirit anyway? I would never want to be like him."
WOW!!! Talk about jumping to conclusions. I guess the JW "force" is still strong with you Luke. How can you possibly know this? Please share with us this power of insight that only YOU appear have. We promise not to "logically" deny it.
Old habits do die hard it seems.
