Stop following others!

for this new year it would be nice to do some soul searching.

do you follow others just to "fit in" the in group?

I don't worry about what god may or may not think of me...as far as people, yes there are a few people that I do care what they think of me. But I wouldn't chuck my integrity out the window, if one of them challenge me on something I felt was an issue of principle...for example, my best friend is very religious and believes in the big guy in the sky. Well, I don't, and won't pretend to for her sake. And she doesn't have to agree with me or pretend to not believe in God for my sake.

There are times when I have to rethink my behavior, and will make adjustments...like, being careful about my language around certain people. I don't see this as a principle thing at all. I do swear occaisionally, but not around those that I know it will offend, nor around my kids. To me, that is just being polite.

Regarding stop following others: if you find someone that lives a decent life, and offers some good advice to you on how you can be happy, what is the harm in following them, as long as it is within what you want to accomplish in your life? Don't be a joiner, just to be liked, but don't discount learning from others just because they may have good advice to follow that you didn't find in the bible or other works of fiction first.

Hopefully you won't get the question. Perhaps you will just get the "we miss you" yadda yadda yadda comments. I always was embarrassed by the love bombing when someone that hasnt been in a while or who was df and came back experience.

well...i am finally!!!

officially done at 12:49 am saturday hahah...now i have to do all the wrapping though!

we had such well laid plans...but my husband and i both were thwarted by the flu this week....eeek.

I don't mind shopping for the little ones...the older ones, kids over 13 or 14 are tougher.

the teacher obviously has no respect for parental authority. When my oldest was younger, we were JWs and he never believed in Santa, and he was instructed not to tell kids at school santa was fake. If someone asked him point blank that would be different.

Personally, I think this person should rethink teaching at that grade level.

"Fluff" Cheesecake in Hell?

ok, yesterday i found out by a co-worker that i am going to hell because i have not accepted jesus christ as my personal savior.

so i thought i would help this lady understand that not all people are the same and it would be a crime, possibly insane to judge a confused person to death in hell when they are just not sure about this god thing.

i used the example of driving home last night and on the way i see that i am going to be hit by a semi and die.

I too, have travelled that road. And will many times in the future. I think it is well worth it.

Besides, we from Texas can handle hell...after all, it cannot be much hotter?

Well...I am FINALLY!!! Officially done at 12:49 AM Saturday hahah...now I have to do all the wrapping though!

We had such well laid plans...but my husband and I both were thwarted by the flu this week....eeek. Because the last few (err..5 or 6) Christmases have just been WAY too many toys...my husband and I really tried to commit to cutting things back this year. We still spent a good bit of money, but the kids are only getting a few things from us, and not a lot of toys at all. My girls have way too many toys, and I just don't feel the need to add more to them, christmas or not. We started cutting back this year on the bdays too.

Tonight we tried something new with the kids: Secret Santa. I know many families do that already. Usually we don't do a lot with our kids getting stuff for each other. Sure, I have them make something for their grandparents, and my two stepdaughters' mother and fiance, but not so much their siblings. This year they all did extra chores to earn a little spending money to buy presents. When I took them to the mall tonight, I realized that $10 per kid, wasn't going to go very far, even for just little things, since we have 5 kids. So, I wrote each of their names down, and they each pulled a name.

It was a lot of fun, actually. They took turns going into a store with me while the others stayed with my sister. No one got anything very expensive or exciting, but they all seem pleased they were able to get a real gift.

I think I would like to do this again next year. We have a good size family. I figure that if each kid gives something to their sibling on their bdays, there is no reason to have to give all the siblings something at once on Christmas...at least not this young. I think it may take out a lot of the angst that goes with Christmas.

Anyhoo...my inlaws will be here at 9AM...so I need to get going...still doing laundry...ahhhhhhhh....

i was actually baptized in my early 20's, so i spent some time as a teen and early twenties doing things that were not witness-like.

one of those things was sex out of marriage and to be honest, i have no regrets.

i have wondered though sometimes, where is that person i shared such a landmark moment with in life.

I've got some time off coming up... what should I do with it?

i will be off work from thurdsay dec. 22nd after 3:00 pm to monday jan 2nd... eleven days!

i wasn't able to make any solid plans because the time off was not 100% certain... but now it is.. what should i do with my time off????

I think you need to take that new car of yours on some really cool windy roads. If I had that little beauty...vroooom vrooommmm!!!! I would be on the road for at least 7 of those days just breaking it in.
