Movie Critic Needed

we wanted to buy a dvd to watch, i thought the league of extraordinary gentlemen(i think that is the name) looked cool.

VERY disapointing....I just adore Sean Connery, and the previews for it and the website they put together had me intrigued.

There is not enough Peta Wilson in it...they could have developed her part much more. I did not find Alan Quartermain's role very necessary to the whole team nor the plot (I don't want to give the story away, it has a decent twist, but to me this twist made his invite to the league fairly unnecessary). I think the addition of Tom Sawyer as an American agent was weak as well...

I enjoyed the movie, but was glad I did not pay $8 to see it in a theater. It just is not what it could have been. I think they have too many characters that are interesting to do any of them or the plot justice.

The premise is pretty weak as well. If you do buy the dvd, go to blockbuster and trade in an old dvd for it so you don't pay full price. They set up the ending to make you think a sequel is coming..I hope that if it does it will be stronger and better than the first. I am a Sean Connery sucker, so of course I will buy the dvd if there is a sequel, no matter how bad hahah.

I too, felt compassion for the man when I saw his picture, and the hole he was living in. Then I remembered how he had all these beautiful palaces, incredible wealth, and how he thought nothing of killing people in droves via his Chemical Ally drones...I am glad he was uncomfortable. I hope he was fearful..he should be relieved that he was captured for a little bit anyway.

Should he die....hmmmmmm.HMMMMMM....yes by the hands of the iraqi peeps...let them decide what to do with him. I don't think he is any better than Pol Pot.

are we beginning to see that the argument of wether or not we should have gone to war is starting to get a little circular.. there are points to be made on both sides.

in my mind it comes down to wether or not you think that the us should be the policeman for the rest of the world.. i personally still don't think we needed to go to war, even though we did capture saddam, i know, i know, hard to believe.. just think, if i had my way, saddam would still be in power!!!!

Saddam needed to be ousted no matter what...of course there was more fluff than actual fact to go to war with the country..but he really is a monster. And of course you know that GW had to avenge his father for the plot Saddam could not carry out to kill his dad.

I say this for all the Kurds and others in Iraq that that bastard mass murdered.

Saddam was tied to much in other way to the terrorists by attitude alone...he was quite pleased when the planes hit the towers, the pentagon and went down in the field in PA. That alone is not justification for warring with his country, but I think that there are so many little things that piled up make it seem right, even if it is not.

I must admit I did feel a little better when his two sons were killed, and later when the captured him. Now, they just need to be careful not to make him too much of a martyr.

Did you re-evaluate who Jesus Christ is when you left?

did any of you re-evaluate his deity after you left?

do you think that the watchtower has been accurate in the way they present what other's believe about jesus christ and his relationship to the father?

I sometimes want to liken the whole Trinity thing to something that Mojo Jojo from Powerful Girls would come up with.

If Jesus is in fact God, his own father, does he buy himself Father's day cards?

The whole thing really sounds like it was thought up in an Arkansas trailer park.

Need to vent about my job!!

i work at a bank doing processing, underwritine, inputting, closing, signing and anything else related to mortgage or home equity lines of credit.

as we all know the rates have been incredibly low for the past 2 years.

last year the bank more than took care of me with my raise and my bonus.

Unfortunately, what you are experience is what millions have been experiencing since post 9/11.

By the way...I worked in mortgage processing and closing for 3 years so I understand how stressful your job can be. If they offered you more money, but said you had to cut your hours, that is actually a compliment. Sounds like they do value you, but you cannot get blood from a stone.

Instead of getting upset, try to take in the whole picture. If they more than took care of you when things are good, dont you think they will again as the economy gets better? You are in a difficult situation, but for your own sake I think it is very important to remember that when those good times come around, your employer may remember those that stuck it out valiently than those that stuck it out, but with less than a good attititude.

You did the right thing by asking if they could provide more, but maybe you were a bit unrealistic about what they could actually give you. You do have to take care of yourself, but if you cannot work with a team attitude, then you might find yourself shooting yourself in the foot. If you feel you need to find another job, go ahead, but leave with dignity, and I would suggest NOT telling any prospective employer that you did not feel valued as your reason for leaving. Trust me, it is always a turn off when I hear that from candidates. That marks you as a fair weather employee.You can come up with position reasons for seeking a new position without lying.

The suggestions that others have made here about cutting back your hours and taking the raise to reduce stress is a great idea. And like Navigator wrote, take that extra time to get new skills so that you will enable yourself to move up the ladder where you are, or get the necessary skills to find a higher position elsewhere. And of course, take some of that time to just renew your spirit with non work activities...when I was in mortgage banking I hardly had a life...it was very depressing..don't forget to take care of your career and your life.

i'm doing a report for school on jehovah's witness and i've looked all over the internet and i can't seem to find the method by which they maintain a distinct identification (for example symbols, clothing, and appearance, etc) if anybody can help i would be grateful.

Actually JWs DO have restrictions on alcohol..you can drink if you are of age, but you should never get drunk. There are just a lot of alcoholics that DONT get drunk.....(Ive seen them, they do exist!)

I certainly did. Growing up I was in the JW faith...so I never believed the Trinity, and have never seen any balanced evidence after leaving to believe it. But I guess that does not matter, because my understanding of Jesus has gone from son of god to just a very wonderful teacher and humanitarian.

He was a great guy, whose teachings changed the world for the better I think, but the misapplication of his ideas has done a lot of harm as well. I think one of the greatest examples he set was his compassion and empathy for others. He was a strong personality who was not afraid to show his emotions. Did he really turn water into wine? Heal all those people? 7 or 8 years ago I would have said definately, but now, I don't think it really matters. His lessons on how to treat other people and give of yourself were more important than any alleged healings he did.

He have great respect for him, but I do not believe he is the son of god any more than other good men, such as Ghandi or Jimmy Carter. (I am refer to POST presidential years of course)
